Wellspring Community is a non-profit organization providing educational, enrichment and business enterprise opportunities to adults with special needs such that they are empowered to live full, productive and satisfying lives in a God-centered and spiritually nourishing environment. We strive to continue to be innovators in the field, having conceived, designed and executed a unique delivery model of services to the adult special needs community. We refer to those we serve as STARS โ Specially Talented Adults Raising Standards.
We have begun to fulfill our Mission by (1) offering to our STARS a broad and empowering series of classroom- and community-based learning opportunities and (2) establishing specially modified business enterprises where our STARS are engaged in meaningful, creative and productive business enterprise experiences. At Wellspring Bakery and Wellspring Cafรฉ, staff and volunteers work alongside our STARS, training them in baking, hosting and serving. Staff and volunteers likewise train our STARS to create beautiful ceramic and woodcrafts in our Wellspring Art Studio and to plant, cultivate and harvest living things in our Wellspring Garden program. Our innovative Programming offers to our STARS classroom- and community-based learning opportunities in Physical Education, Art and Performing Arts, Life and Leadership Skills, and Enrichment Education.
Our Vision - is to dramatically scale our footprint and our offerings so as to empower and spiritually nourish as many STARS as we possibly can, consistent with our program excellence and God-centered and spiritually nourishing culture, without compromising the program or culture of legacy Wellspring.
In the near-term, we plan to launch new satellite locations across the Front Range. We also plan to investigate whether and how we can best serve a broader range of STARS than has historically been the case. Longer term, we may expand our footprint beyond Colorado. Also longer term, we plan to explore offering our innovative programming virtually across the State (for those who cannot travel to our brick & mortar locations), across the nation, and perhaps even across the globe. Always, we will continue to try to innovate our Programming to best serve the needs of our STARS.
While not presently part of our core strategy, in the future, we hope to be able to begin to participate in solving the residential housing crisis that afflicts many of our STARS and their families.
Bakery - Our Wellspring Bakery was our first specially modified business venture. What started out as baking cookies in a home kitchen, then baking a couple of hours a day in rented space, has now evolved to our own commercial kitchen. Experienced staff and volunteers train our STARS in all aspects of baking and packaging. To place an order call 303-660-1935 or email us at bakery@wearewellspring.org
Art Studio - Our Wellspring Art Studio offers our STARS the opportunity to learn woodworking and ceramics, alongside trained staff and volunteers, and to experience the thrill of creating beautiful decorative pieces.
Enrichment Classes โ We offer an incredible variety of approximately 50 different, continually evolving enrichment classes in performing arts, physical education, life/ leadership skills and leisure skills.
