Call for an appointment: 868-8890 What I Do:
I do massages that help to relieve pain and reduce stress. My goal is to apply enough pressure to ease your sore muscles without applying too much pressure that you become tense. My sessions incorporate techniques from Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Trigger-Point massage. I have some training in Sports massage, Reflexology, Healing Touch, and Aromatherapy. Although I don’t specialize in these modalities, they do influence the work I do. For Myofacial Release, Rolfing, or Thai massage you’ll want to go to another therapist. I work in a calm environment. I will ask you questions to ensure your comfort or to gain information about the causes of your tension. Beyond that I will let you take the lead when it comes to conversation during your massage. I am not opposed to chatting, and if it helps you relax during your session, that’s great! But silence often provides the best environment for healing and relaxation. What You Can Expect:
I will greet you when you arrive and show you to the studio. I will ask you a few questions about your pain and stress level. Be sure to let me know of any specific areas of discomfort, recent injuries you have had, any medications you are taking, or if you are pregnant or breast feeding. If you are a new client, I will ask you to fill out a simple intake form. You will have the opportunity to ask me questions or let me know of any concerns you may have before your session begins. I will leave the room for a few moments so that you will have privacy as you prepare for your session. You may disrobe to your level of comfort. This means that you do not have to take off any clothing if you don’t want to. It also means that you may remove some or all of your clothing if you want to. When you are ready, you will lie on the massage table, under the sheet. For your comfort as well as mine, you will be covered with a sheet at all times. I will knock on the door. If you need another moment or two, please let me know. If you are on the table, under the sheet, I will enter the studio. Your session will begin. You can help me to ensure that your session goes smoothly by providing feedback. Let me know if you experience any pain or discomfort during the session, need more or less pressure, are too warm or too cold, need a tissue to blow your nose, need to use the restroom, or need a drink of water. At the conclusion of the massage session, I will leave the room again. I will encourage you to take some deep breaths and relax on the table for a few moments. When you are dressed, you may open the door. I will collect your payment, answer any questions you may have, and if you request it, I will help you schedule your next appointment. Where I Am:
