February is Recreational Therapy Month, and we’re celebrating the heart of what we do—meeting clients where they are and building therapy around what they love.

At Together Just, therapy doesn’t look one way. We use games, art, movement, sensory tools, sports, creative materials, and hobbies chosen by our clients to build real-world skills. Because of that, supplies are one of our largest and most important expenses.

It’s Recreational Therapy Month 🎉

Let’s start by clearing something up.
Recreational Therapy is not “just play,” “just sports,” or “extra fun time.”

RT is a licensed, evidence-based service that uses purposeful interventions to address functional goals related to emotional regulation, executive functioning, social participation, motivation, and quality of life.

All month long, we’ll be sharing educational posts about Recreational Therapy—what it is, what it isn’t, and why it plays a critical role in mental health care, education, and community inclusion.

Thank you to everyone who attended our 2025 Casino Night! We raised just under $50,000 and that will go directly towards funding our free mental health programs!

Due to unexpected technical difficulties, we weren’t able to share our program video at Casino Night — and that video deserves a moment of its own.
