This is what a blank slate looks like.
3 weeks post pi day tornado, this is the Brood Farm barn.
My plan for rebuilding the farm is to be very intentional and strategic. This will be a lengthy process. Our end goal will be to do fewer things large scale than we did when the farm was at its peak but to do each of them very well. It’s important to me that the farm generate enough income to sustain itself, but, beyond that, my goal will be to invest in the elements of the farm that best serve our community.

Brood Farm is looking a bit different since Friday night’s storm.

We rode out the storm in our safe room and emerged to discover a very different landscape. Thanks to some crazy recovery efforts, we found every animal alive and despite having no intact fences remaining, were able to get everyone at least temporarily corralled and safe and fed.

Internet and phone are spotty, so please forgive me for late responses! The outpouring of love and support from our community and beyond is overwhelming. God is good.

I’ll try to provide more pics, info, and updates as I can, but I wanted to start here. With a pic of the Brood Farm barn. It’s a place that has held so many memories— for us and for many of you as you’ve attended our events, field trips, and classes over the years.

Please be in prayer for our Cave City community— so much devastation here in our sweet community!
