Mr. Coy Presley Monroe, age 68, of Cave City, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Shanti Niketan Hospice Home in Glasgow, Kentucky. The Barren County native was a lifelong farmer. He was employed by Monroe Brothers Feed Mill for 22 years. He retired from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture in 2018. Coy was a skilled pitmaster smoking numerous hogs for all occasions. His annual hog roast was a staple for family, friends, and neighbors. He was an avid John Deere and Case Knife collector.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Presley Monroe Jr. and Joyce Grimes Monroe. Uncles, J.Y., Bobby, and William Monroe. Aunts, Ruby Gibson, Betty Wilkins, Carolyn Monroe and Nancy Monroe. Special nephew, Matt Monroe. Nieces, Samantha and Amy Monroe.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Nathan Monroe and Amanda Everett-Monroe. He was Pa Coy to his grandson, Waylon Monroe. Two sisters, Jennifer Kinsner and her husband, Dan, and Vinetta Daniell and her husband, Stuart of Bowling Green; one brother, Sammy Monroe and his wife, Vicki, of Cave City. Three nieces, Sammye Jo Estes and her husband JR, of Cave City, Dana Maulden and her husband, Adam, of Cave City, Rachel Shirley and her husband, Mason, of Taylorsville. One nephew, Alex Daniell and his wife, Savannah, of Bowling Green. Uncle, Larry Monroe and his wife, Patricia, of Cave City. Aunt, Joann Monroe, of Lillian, Alabama. Several great nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel in Cave City, with burial to follow in the Penns Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery in Warren County.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Sunday after 9:00 a.m. until the time for services at 1:00 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Matt Monroe Memorial Scholarship Fund at 1105 South Toohey Ridge Rd. Cave City, KY 42127.

Obituary of Steven A. Poynter

Mr. Steven A. Poynter, age 63, of Beattyville, Kentucky, formerly of Cave City, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Lee County Care and Rehabilitation Center. Steven was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on September 1, 1962, a son of the late William and Lydia (Doyle) Poynter. He was a 1981 graduate of Caverna High School, an avid UK fan, and enjoyed watching baseball.

Steven is survived by his brother, Billy Joe Poynter, one niece, Denise Poynter Clark and husband Kevin, one nephew, Chuck Poynter, one aunt, Marie Coats, and a host of extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Wayne Poynter, and his grandparents, Charlie and Ruby Poynter, and Lum and Sadie Monroe Doyle.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Poynter-Hatcher Cemetery in Cave City, Kentucky with Bro. Walter Decker officiating the service

Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel in Cave City.

Mr. Billy Parker Turner, aged 95, of Cave City, Kentucky, departed this life peacefully on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at his home. Born on March 17, 1930, in Cave City to the late Guy Hamilton and Freida Mae (Parker) Turner, Billy lived a rich and meaningful life.

In 1957, Billy answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy, dedicating nearly twenty years of his life to military service during the Korean War Era. His time in the Navy took him around the world, a testament to his commitment and duty. On December 22, 1952, he married Martha Rose Miller in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and together they built a loving family.

After retiring from the Navy, Billy continued to serve his community through his role at Mallory in Glasgow and as a devoted Boy Scout Leader throughout the 1960s. An avid traveler, he cherished family adventures with his wife and children, embodying a strong work ethic and a profound dedication to both his family and career. He was also a former member of the Cave City Christian Church.

Billy leaves behind his beloved wife of seventy-two years, Martha Rose Turner; his daughter, Laura Ann Flowers, of Lexington; and his son, Joseph Miller Turner and his wife Deborah, of Oakland. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Kaylin Turner and her husband Dr. Robert Worthing, of Midway, and Alyssa Hendrix and her husband Brandon of Millersville, Tennessee, along with two great-grandchildren, Holland Rose and Sloane Isabelle Hendrix, as well as several nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law John Patrick Flowers, and his sister, Carol Reynolds, and her husband R.D. Reynolds.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel in Cave City, with interment to follow at Cave City Cemetery. Friends and family are warmly invited to join in sharing stories and memories during this time of remembrance.

Mr. Jackie Edward Coop, age 73, of Cave City, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2025, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. Jackie was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on August 2, 1951, a son of the late Redman and Martha Faye (Scott) Coop. He was united in marriage to Mae Logsdon on May 12, 1970. Jackie was a partner of C & J Shell in Cave City for several years before he retired, he enjoyed fishing and tinkering around with lawn mowers and any kind of work with his hands. He was a member of Horse Cave Church of Christ.

Jackie is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Mae Logsdon Coop, one son, Kevin Coop and wife Angela, all of Cave City. four sisters-in-law, Verna Logsdon, Deloris Hodge, Verdie Meredith, Ethel Decker, two brothers-in-law, Harvey Logsdon, and Carlie Logsdon. One aunt, Linda Adwell and husband Leon, of Cave City, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Keen and Ocie Scott, and his fishing buddy, Haskel "Hack" Jameson.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Horse Cave Church of Christ, with burial to follow in Cave City Cemetery. Wayne Hatcher will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held at Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, at the church after 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
