Being an OCD therapist who also lives with OCD isn’t a contradiction — it’s a deeply human intersection of empathy, training, and lived experience.

OCD is so often misunderstood or minimized. But for those who live with it, it’s real, loud, consuming, and incredibly brave to face.

In my newest blog, I talk about:
✨ what it’s like to treat OCD while also navigating it
✨ why lived experience can deepen compassion (without taking over therapy)
✨ the responsibility + privilege of sitting on both sides of the room
✨ and a reminder that OCD is treatable, hopeful, and you are not alone

If you live with OCD, love someone who does, or simply want a peek behind the scenes of therapists being human too… this one’s for you. 💛

One day in college my brain decided that hummus was suddenly trying to kill me — after eating it my entire life. Cue panic symptoms, full body alarm bells, and yes… campus EMTs with oxygen 🥲

Was I actually allergic? No.
Did it feel absolutely real in my body? 1000% yes.

That’s the thing about anxiety + ARFID: it isn’t “dramatic,” “picky,” or “attention-seeking.” It’s the nervous system trying desperately to protect you… it just sometimes picks the wrong enemy (sorry garlic 🌿😂)

If you’ve ever had your brain convince you something totally ordinary was dangerous, you’re not alone. Healing is learning to meet those moments with compassion instead of shame. 💛

Tell me: what’s the most random thing your anxiety has ever convinced you of?

OCD doesn’t always show up as “obvious” rituals.
Sometimes it sounds like self-doubt.
Sometimes it feels like guilt, fear, or the pressure to “get it right.”
And sometimes, it’s just… loud.

If this page speaks to you, pause for a second and remember:
You are not broken.
You are not failing.
These are symptoms — not character flaws.

You deserve tools that help you understand your brain instead of fighting it. You deserve compassion, support, and resources that actually feel gentle.

✨ Want more pages like this?
✨ Want something supportive, validating, and actually helpful?

👉 Check out my OCD + Recovery workbook — created by a therapist who gets it and designed to help you feel steadier, kinder to yourself, and less alone.

You’re doing the best you can. And that’s enough. 💛.

Sometimes it’s not “just” OCD.
Sometimes it’s not “just” ADHD.
Sometimes it’s not “just” an eating disorder.

Sometimes… it’s all three existing in the same nervous system, in the same body, at the same time. 💛

It can look like:
🌿 OCD making you question every decision
🌿 ADHD making it hard to follow through, stay organized, or keep routines
🌿 An eating disorder adding shame, rules, and pressure on top of it all

That doesn’t make you weak.
It doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means your brain has been working incredibly hard for a very long time.

If this is you: you are not “too complicated.” You’re not broken. You are a human navigating layered experiences that deserve patience, support, and gentle care. Healing is still possible — even when things overlap, intertwine, and feel messy.

You’re allowed to go at your own pace.
You’re allowed to take it one step at a time.
And you don’t have to figure it all out alone. 💛

We become a lot like the people we keep close.
Choose the ones who are doing the work. The ones who are dreaming bigger, healing deeper, taking risks, and showing up for their lives.

Not perfect people. Not always positive people.
Real humans who are willing to grow.

Here’s to surrounding ourselves with momentum, compassion, and people who believe in possibility. 🤍

New on the blog ✨
“Therapists, You Deserve Care Too.”

We spend so much time holding space for others… but sometimes forget that we deserve to be held, supported, and cared for too.
This post is a love letter to therapists everywhere — reminding you that rest, boundaries, and support are not luxuries. They’re necessary. And you are allowed to need them.

If you’re a therapist, mental health professional, or simply someone who gives a lot of themselves… this one’s for you. 💛
