November SNAP benefits have been loaded onto EBT cards.

The federal government remains shut down, but ODHS was able to issue full November SNAP benefits. People in Oregon who receive SNAP will see 100% of their November benefit amount beginning on November 7, 2025.

Before going to the store, check your EBT card balance to make sure your benefits are available. Use only the official EBT Edge website or the EBT Edge mobile app (Apple or Android). ODHS does not guarantee the safety of any other EBT management websites or apps.

⚠️ SNAP Benefits Update – October 31, 2025

Court rulings are coming in about whether the Trump Administration will be required to issue November SNAP benefits during the federal government shutdown.
ODHS is currently reviewing what these rulings mean for people receiving SNAP in Oregon, and will share updates as soon as possible.

For now, here’s what we know:
✅ If you already have funds on your EBT card, you can still use them—even if the shutdown continues.
✅ SNAP benefits do not expire right away, and your current balance will remain available during this short-term situation while we wait for federal operations to resume.
⏳ It will take time for November benefits to appear on EBT cards after approval—ODHS must update systems and coordinate with their EBT vendor before issuing funds.

Happy National First Responder Day! 🚒

Today we recognize and thank our first responders- the firefighters, EMTs, and emergency personnel who dedicate their lives to protecting our community.

A special thank you to the Illinois Valley Fire District for not only answering the call during emergencies, but also partnering with us and other local organizations to strengthen community preparedness.

At a recent OREM meeting, we saw IVFD’s new Type One emergency preparedness package and IVARC - Illinois Valley Amateur Radio Club's new Mobile Communication Hub (both funded through a resilience grant from OREM). These incredible tools will help keep our valley safe and connected during crises.

We’re proud to work alongside such dedicated partners making the Illinois Valley stronger and more resilient. 💪

⚠️ Important Update for SNAP Recipients

Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) has announced that SNAP benefits will not be distributed in November if the shutdown continues through the end of October.

This could have a serious impact on families here in Josephine County — where more than 25,000 people rely on SNAP benefits to help put food on the table.

The Josephine County Food Bank, along with community partners like the Illinois Valley Family Coalition, is preparing to meet increased demand by purchasing additional food and working with the Oregon Food Bank Network to secure more resources.

Our message to the community is simple:
👉 Food resources are available.
👉 Local food pantries are open to anyone in need.

Please share this information widely so our neighbors know that help is available.
