Hanging out with Bella and they are at it again. Talking about Grammy’s funeral and caskets, and Bella has a favorite. Want to take a guess which one it is before watching?

It’s funny how the world works.

Two funeral directors. Different places. Different paths.

We probably would have never known the other existed… if it weren’t for social media.

Michelle and Katlyn met, and it just clicked.

You’d think they’ve known each other for years… but they haven’t.

Here’s how it all started.

Make sure your dad is your biggest hype man.

When I bought the business last year, Dad tried to teach me everything he knows. And that’s a lot. But he also knew I had my own vision for the future.

Different ideas.
Different energy.
Maybe even a few “what is she doing now?” moments.

And instead of resisting it… he got on board. He supported the crazy antics. The videos. The transparency. The education. The bigger picture.

He sees what I’m building.
He sees my heart.
He trusts my authenticity.

This profession doesn’t always love change — but change is the only guarantee in life. And I’m incredibly lucky to have someone who understands that standing beside me.

I don’t take that for granted.

I feel lucky. 🩷
Thanks, Dad.

Some of the most powerful moments in this profession are never planned. They are overheard. Quiet words shared between family and friends, moments when someone says, “I had no idea they were so loved.” Those words remind us how deeply a life can touch others.

Each person requires specific care.

For every case, we start with a bottle of One Point. That helps with distribution and absorption — essentially allowing the arterial system to open and everything to flow properly.

In cases of edema, we would use a fluid specifically designed to help reduce swelling. In this case, we used Restoratone, which is a supplemental fluid that helps restore natural fullness for someone who may have lost significant weight and appears emaciated. It allows us to bring back a more natural, peaceful appearance.

Then we select a specific index, or strength, preservative fluid. The index we choose depends on a number of factors — condition, time frame, and individual needs. Its purpose is temporary preservation, allowing time for visitation and viewing so families can have a proper and loving goodbye.

This isn’t guesswork. It’s training. It’s science. It’s experience. Every decision we make is intentional — rooted in our education, our dedication, and our commitment to caring for each person as the individual they are.

No two people are the same — and their care shouldn’t be either.

Is a burial vault necessary?

Although not required by law, most cemeteries require an outer burial container. The purpose of a burial vault is to protect the ground above it from caving around a casket, leaving sinkholes throughout a cemetery.
