Anne Wales, DO

Anne is a renowned osteopathic physician who is often quoted because of her talents and wisdom. I like how she explains the thought process of an osteopathic physician.

If you go to an osteopathic physician (DO) you are most likely going to find someone who practices like an allopathic physician (MD). I find this to be tragic that osteopathic physicians are forgetting their roots.

With that being said, all healing modalities have their place and purpose. Sometimes we deserve chemistry to heal, sometimes physics, sometimes manual therapies, sometimes herbs, sometimes surgery, sometimes energy.

I encourage y'all to explore healing modalities if y'all feel like there is something more.

I think more along the lines of an osteopathic physician and have many talents that can stimulate healing.

"We suffer from two causes- want of supply and burden of dead deposits. "

What is considered health?

Most people would consider health as absence of disease. Many people think that if they aren't sick or in pain then they are healthy.

How many of y'all have gone to the doctor with symptoms (cough, sinus, rash, pain, etc) and were told "there is nothing wrong"?
You even get labs and imaging and there is still "nothing wrong."
So, you should be healthy if "there is nothing wrong," but you still have symptoms.

I am excited to be an osteopathic physician and find what is healthy in your body and begin to generate health in your body.

How do I generate health? To me, health is flow.

Flow of what? Follow of everything, which is a vague answer. But more specifically flow of blood, flow of cerbrospinal fluid, flow of joints, flow of tissues, flow of emotions, flow of spirit, flow of universal light.
Some of the parts I am getting to flow through you makes sense. That is the "want of supply" that I interpret the quote to mean. The American food supply does not have the same nutrition as it did in the past. My generic nutritional advice is to eat more vegetables and eat less processed foods and stay hydrated.

The "burden of dead deposits" from the quote is more abstract. Many of the physical symptoms you are experiencing is the burden of dead deposits causing the blocking of flow of emotions, blocking of flow of spirit, and blocking of the flow of the universal light.

How do you block the flow of emotions, spirit and light? Trauma! We have all experienced the ups and downs of life. If I were to ask each of you about your life, most will have experienced bullying, yelled at by others, physical abuse, sexual abuse, mental abuse and so many more.

I like the team approach to addressing the traumas that burden us with "dead deposits." You have many avenues to address trauma and get through them.

I look forward to being part of your team to get you through the traumatic experiences and bring you to feel the full connection and flow of life.

This quote in the picture really hit me today!

Who am I?
What is my value?
Who measures my value?
Who tells me who I am or who I am to be?

Let that sink in...

2 weeks postoperative:

I removed the drain from Cindy Kline !!! We are pretty excited. Plan is things will continue to heal and close up.
Still doing compression day and night. Cindy is able to move more, but still has pain with movement. She gets tired quickly. Still doing fiber, arginine, electrolytes, and advancing food intake.

I think Cindy even made it outside to experience the sun today.

Postoperative Day 12-ish...I lost count...even with making regular posts.

Cindy Kline is having a setback today. The pain is sharp and pinchy and strong. She has shed some tears. She is putting up with the pain. She wants the drain tube out soon, but it is still draining more than recommended.

She is also putting up with me, which can be worse than the pain.

Today, Cindy has been questioning if the mommy makeover has been worth it. We called a friend to get their direction and comfort for Cindy. Our friend has been very happy with their mommy makeover and gave Cindy some reassurance.

Regardless of Cindy's questioning, she is committed to the journey. She just didn't realize how painful and debilitating the recovery would be. She totally underestimated the process

Post Operative Day 11:

Cindy Kline is still draining from the last tube, but it is slowing down. Maybe tomorrow can get the last drain removed.
Cindy is eating solid foods and regularly going to the bathroom. She is walking more. She is still wanting back rubs and foot rubs.
Cindy enjoyed a shower today. Her back tightens up more when she stands, so the shower was not as refreshing as she would like. Cindy is still not able to stand up straight.
The bruising continues to improve. The swelling in the feet is improving. Some of the bruising has trickled all the way to her ankles. The surgical sites are still swollen even though Cindy is waering compression.
I'll keep y'all posted on Cindy's progress.
I'll start highlighting the supplements we are using to get her through this.

Still no opioids!!!

Post Operative Day 10:

Cindy Kline is moving more. I started to get Cindy positioned to pull her second drain, and then the drain started draining more. So, we will leave it in a couple more days.

I'll give y'all a happy Lilly picture to look at today!!! Lilly is such a happy kid and has the cutest giggles.

Post Operative Day 9:

This isn't Cindy Kline....

Cindy is still making progress. She is still in a lot of pain. She is walking more. She is still swollen. The bruises are improving. Cindy is more regularly having bowel movements.

This is Vanessa. She is my Princess. I am sharing on of my favorite memories of her.

Post Operative Day 8:

Cindy Kline also did liposuction to the thighs. Keep in mind this bruising is a week old and looks about a week old with the dark purple turning to yellow-green. Cindy is still swollen and is looking for her knee caps.
The surgeon's office said some of the swelling might take 6 months to a year to resolve, and the shape changing might take that same 6-12 months. Most of the swelling should be gone by the 3 month mark.
Cindy will be wearing tights for the next 3-6 months to keep the swelling contained and approximate the space between the skin and muscles now that some of the fat has been removed.

Luckily, Cindy has lots of support from the kids and her family while I continue to work. I lightened my work load to be home a little bit more. Even being home a little more isn't enough to keep up with the busy Dalton household.

Post Operative Day 7:

Cindy Kline is in a little better spirits!

We went to the surgeon's office and got one of the drainage tubes removed. Because of the severe pain in the back, belly, and legs, Cindy has not gotten out of her tights.
This was Cindy's first time seeing the extent of bruising and incisions. Keep in mind, this bruising is 7 days old. On the medical side, this looks like a 5-7 day old bruise where the dark purple is turning to a green-yellow. This her her back, and we can see how the bruising settled into the low part because of laying in a recliner most of the time.

Is this the price of beauty? Cindy had a tummy tuck and lipo. You can see the marker of the areas the surgeon wanted to remove fat. The pain and recovery has been more intense than Cindy was anticipating. The bruising has also been more intense.

We will see if it is all worth it as the recovery continues.

We will talk about the other parts of the surgery in future posts.

Post Operative Day 6:
Cindy Kline is in lots of pain. Still managing pain with Tylenol, arnica, and plus relief. She just got an arnica topical for the bruises.

Bruising is still prominent, and feet are painful and swollen. The surgical sites are still draining and the pain from the surgical sites are getting worse.

The bowels are not completely regular and still using stool softeners and miralax.
