Welcome November!

Welcome November, full of time changes, weather changes, holidays, family get togethers, food, fun and of course time for you!

I was so surprised when I realized November had come! Seems to have snuck up on us and it is so amazing all the cool things ahead that come with this time of year.

At Color Country Holistic Spa we recognize this time of year can be stressful and fun all at the same time. Here are some great ways to help manage stress as the season progresses.

1. Meal prep - Taking a weekend to prep your weekly meals is a great way to keep the stress of what's for dinner at bay while freeing up your time to spend time with family or work on projects
2. Take a walk - This time of year is great! the wind has died down and for the most part the temperatures have been very lovely! Getting outside and taking advantage of the fresh air and sunshine can go a long way to reducing stress levels, as well as boost your immune system.
3. Massage Therapy - Did you know that stress can cause your blood sugar levels to rise? It can also cause indigestion and headaches etc... Massage Therapy has been shown to reduce stress and tension

Welcome October!!!

My husband and I finally got some time to take a drive up the mountain to see the colors and get some dinner! Aunt Sue's Chalet never disappoints! I have put a couple of pictures we took in this newsletter so be sure to look for those!

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to teach cupping to members of my staff, it was such a great class and it was so fun to pass on this great modality. Our special this month is a free cupping upgrade with a 30 or 60 min massage. If you haven't experienced the magic of a cupping massage definitely make sure to get an appointment!

So what is cupping?

Cupping is an ancient form of holistic medicine that uses suction cups to create negative pressure on the skin, loosening underlying muscle and connective tissue fibers.

It provides pain and tension relief, increases circulation and enhances mobility.

When stationary cupping is used it can leave marks that can last up to about a week. they purple, but it's important to know that it is not a bruise. The color is the result of blood and toxins coming up to the surface to be taken out by the lymphatic system. Cupping is amazing for the immune system which as the weather changes and the candy season arrives, cupping massage can be very helpful to include in your self care routine.

In some rare cases, we have noticed itching. this can be a sign of healing but also if the client has a tendency toward histamine reactions, the cupping is bringing blood and toxins up so be aware that this can cause itching, so we just recommend a cooling cream, extra water intake and there should be no other discomfort. The cupping session is still working and doing it's job; and the amazing part about cupping is that it will still be working for a few days after the session so you may find increased relief over time, this is completely normal as your body works to balance and reset.

The more sessions you do the less you should experience the color marks and any discomfort as the body releases the toxins each time. It has been my experience in using cupping for many years that the benefits only increase with each session.

Utah Fits All
I am super excited to announce that I am an approved vendor for the Utah Fits All program for Homeschoolers> What this means is that the program will pay for homeschool students to learn Touch for Health (for teens and adults) and Kinesiology for Kids (Elementary ages).

Each Level of Touch for Health will run over the course of 6 weeks for 2 1/2 hours each class, once a week.

Each Kinesiology for kids course will run over the course of 5 weeks for 1 hour each class, once a week. Once the course is finished it will start over, so no worries if your student comes in the middle of the program

Both of these courses will be done via zoom unless local parents request an in person class and we have enough students for that.

I also teach adults and for Nurses, Massage Therapists and Personal Trainers I can offer CEUs. Check out my Holistic Solutions website for dates
