Did you know that you could be more likely to develop a migraine during the first few weeks of break? Some common triggers for migraines are sleep disruption, food triggers, and the potential for a "let down" headache after stress is completed. Talk to your doctor if you think you are experiencing migraines.

Happy Winter Break! We hope that you are able to catch up on some rest and relaxation over break because everyone been working hard all semester. The UNI Student Health Center is closed over break. We will reopen in January on the first day of classes for the spring semester. If you are in need to counseling services over break download the free TELUS Health Student Support app for access to a counselor 24/7.

23rd Street and the Crosswalk from the Towers are now open! The Parking Lot for the Health Center Remains closed. Please continue to park behind the building in the A lot in the designated parking spots.

Now is a great time to build a sick kit so that you have the supplies when you need them! It could also be a great time to ask your parents to help you build one when you go home for break.

You can use any brand or generic version, we just showed the most common types of each. Here are our recommendations:
-Thermometer
-Tissues
-Acetaminophen (Tylenol)
-Ibuprofen (Advil)
-Cold/Flu Medicine (Mucinex, Sudafed, Nyquil/Dayquil)
-Throat lozenges (Halls, Ricola)
-GI Upset Medicine (Pepto Bismol, Tums, Imodium)
-Food: Ginger Ale, Soup, Crackers, Electrolyte Drink (Gatorade, Body Armor, Powerade)

We have exceeded our expectations on the amount of flu vaccines that we thought we would give and still have people asking for them! We have added an additional flu vaccine clinic for you to get your vaccine if you have not done so already.

We hope that everyone has a safe and fun Halloween Weekend! We wanted to share some safety tips so that you can avoid a few spooky situations.

We are open on Halloween (Friday) from 8am-4:30pm. Stop by and see some of our Halloween costumes or stock up on supplies from our Safer S*x Station.

Say "Boo" to the Flu. Get your flu vaccine by Halloween! Experts recommend getting your flu vaccine by the end of October so that you can be protected when flu season peaks.

We have one more flu vaccine clinic on October 23rd from 12:30-3pm in Schindler. No appointment necessary for the clinic.

You can also call the UNI Student Health Center at 319-273-2009 to schedule a flu vaccine appointment.
