Now is a great time to build a sick kit so that you have the supplies when you need them! It could also be a great time to ask your parents to help you build one when you go home for break.

You can use any brand or generic version, we just showed the most common types of each. Here are our recommendations:
-Thermometer
-Tissues
-Acetaminophen (Tylenol)
-Ibuprofen (Advil)
-Cold/Flu Medicine (Mucinex, Sudafed, Nyquil/Dayquil)
-Throat lozenges (Halls, Ricola)
-GI Upset Medicine (Pepto Bismol, Tums, Imodium)
-Food: Ginger Ale, Soup, Crackers, Electrolyte Drink (Gatorade, Body Armor, Powerade)

We have exceeded our expectations on the amount of flu vaccines that we thought we would give and still have people asking for them! We have added an additional flu vaccine clinic for you to get your vaccine if you have not done so already.

Wednesday, November 12th from 10:30am to 1:30pm in the Maucker Union Ballroom Lobby.

We hope that everyone has a safe and fun Halloween Weekend! We wanted to share some safety tips so that you can avoid a few spooky situations.

We are open on Halloween (Friday) from 8am-4:30pm. Stop by and see some of our Halloween costumes or stock up on supplies from our Safer S*x Station.

Say "Boo" to the Flu. Get your flu vaccine by Halloween! Experts recommend getting your flu vaccine by the end of October so that you can be protected when flu season peaks.

We have one more flu vaccine clinic on October 23rd from 12:30-3pm in Schindler. No appointment necessary for the clinic.

You can also call the UNI Student Health Center at 319-273-2009 to schedule a flu vaccine appointment.

Emergency Contraception is available for free at the UNI Student Health Center in our K.I.S.S. Kits. These kits are located in the lobby at the Safer S*x Station and also in exam rooms. Since the addition of the kits, there have been many questions about emergency contraception. We wanted to share some information about what it is, how to use it, and what side effects could happen.

If you have any questions about emergency contraception, pregnancy, or STIs please contact the UNI Student Health Center to schedule and appointment with a medical provider. Our phone number is 319-273-2009. We are open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.

Two more opportunities to get your flu shot at one of our flu vaccine clinics! We have a clinic on October 14th and October 23rd! Flu vaccine clinics are open to faculty and staff. No appointment necessary.

Happy World Mental Health Day! Today is a reminder of the importance of good mental health and the need to prioritize and invest in good mental health.

Included are tips for you on how to talk to someone about their mental health. If you want to talk about your own mental health with someone, make sure that you choose a person that you trust and have the conversation in a comfortable environment.
