Many UNI students are studying hard to one day work with youth and adolescents. As they prepare for these roles, they must be aware of the bullying problem that affects various students across the United States.

Whether the bullying is verbal, physical, or social, it can cause deep-seated trauma and mental scars that could take years to heal. More specifically, the consequences depend on how long the bullying goes on and what's done about it. There are ways to spot the signs of bullying, foster a culture of respect among kids and peers, and properly and effectively respond to bullying.

Many Americans who are eligible for the updated booster have not received it. You probably know someone who has not received the updated COVID-19 booster. You can answer common questions about the booster to encourage them to get it!

There are four COVID-19 vaccines approved or authorized in the U.S.
💉 Pfizer-BioNTech
💉 Moderna
💉 Novavax
💉 Johnson & Johnson's Janssen

COVID-19 Vaccine Recommendations are based on:
➡️ Age
➡️ The vaccine your first received
➡️ The length of time since your last dose

You are up to date when you:
🗓️ Have completed your primary series, but are not yet eligible for a booster
🗓️ Have become ill with COVID-19 after you received all COVID-19 vaccine doses recommended to you (you do not need to be revaccinated or receive an additional booster)

During Alcohol Awareness Month, it is important to remember that long-term alcohol misuse is NO JOKE!

Alcohol has a powerful effect on the brain, producing positive feelings and blunting negative ones. These effects can motivate some people to drink alcohol again and again, causing an unhealthy cycle of alcohol consumption.

Repost from Healthline

Whether you're in back-to-back classes or there's simply not a restroom nearby, sometimes you have to hold it. 😣 While this is normal, it's not advisable to regularly resist the urge to urinate.

If you feel you are peeing too much (or too little), it's best to consult with a doctor.

Repost from Mental Health Coalition

Last month, the CDC reported that teen girls are in crisis: experiencing record high levels of violence, sadness, and su***de risk. The go-to response to funnel funding into schools to help girls cope, but it's also important that we think about *why* girls may be struggling now more than ever. It is unfortunately no wonder teen girls are having difficulty with the state of the world and the ways certain systems are structured that make it difficult to thrive.

Scroll through these slides to understand some of the root causes of this crisis, and what we can do to help (in addition to supporting girls directly).
