The year is 2020. Iowa has lost over a million pounds and counting. Health care costs in Iowa are declining for the first time in 25 years. Communities have rallied together creating “pods” for health including advanced water technology and plant-based meals that have been produced locally. In the process of creating new ways to make a living with sustainable practices. Factory farms are downsizing and the healthy people, jobs have been created and billions of dollars have been saved for Iowa. With Iowa’s new vigor for producing and consuming its own plant-based food, farmers are finding water and soil are beginning to heal. Each healed Iowan has a story. It is the third year that Katie has been a Healthpreneur in Iowa. She feels amazing and it’s not just because of the weight she’s lost. Every time she can help someone else reach their health goals she lights up with joy. Just last week her friend went off her diabetes medication. Prior to starting her own business, she had been learning about poverty the hard way. The opportunity to become a Healthpreneur had changed everything for her. A movie featuring Katie and other Iowans paints a clear picture of a grassroots effort in action as communities rally around locally grown food and advanced water. Two states away, Mark is watching the movie, Iowa Live, and is moved to tears. If only he had known this information before the cancer had taken his dad. It became evident to him that he had the power to change the health of himself and his family by changing his lifestyle. And with this motivation, the movement grew and the healing of a nation began.
