Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD, is a kind of depression that can come on during the autumn and winter months (though there is a counterpart that occurs during the spring and summer months). SAD is characterized by persistent depressive thoughts, unfounded feelings of guilt, worthlessness, or grief, loss of interest in hobbies or friends, and decreased energy.
