Dr. Micaela Kennedy earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Rutgers University and her Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences from the University of Connecticut. With experience in both hospital-based and school-based settings, she has worked with patients of all ages and abilities.

Passionate about orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, Dr. Micaela especially enjoys working with runners—helping them stay healthy, recover from injuries, and reach their performance goals. As a runner herself, she understands the physical and mental demands of training and competition.

She’s excited to join the Out of the Box team, where she’s dedicated to providing evidence-based, individualized care that empowers every patient to move and feel their best!

Dr. Stephan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Rutgers University after completing his undergraduate studies in kinesiology at the University of Maryland. His passion for sports and movement drives his mission to help others achieve optimal function and well-being through physical therapy.

He treats a wide range of orthopedic injuries with a strong interest in sports performance and rehabilitation and is dedicated to continuing his growth through advanced certifications and specializations.

An avid golfer, Dr. Stephan is especially excited to merge physical therapy with golf performance and rehab—helping athletes enhance their game while preventing injury. He’s proud to be part of the Out of the Box team and is committed to helping every patient reach their full potential!

Get to know Dr. Hanna Sattler — Owner and CEO of Out of the Box Physical Therapy!

Dr. Hanna founded OTB in 2018 with a passion for sports orthopedics and helping individuals of all backgrounds reach their goals. She has experience treating athletes of all levels — from youth to professional — across sports like football, lacrosse, soccer, dance, swimming, Olympic weightlifting, and CrossFit.

A former collegiate swimmer, Dr. Hanna earned her Bachelor of Science from Ramapo College and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rutgers University, where she met Dr. Jesse Sattler, Co-Owner of OTB.

She holds advanced certifications in Dry Needling (Cert DN), Graston Technique, McKenzie Method, ART, RockTape FMT, FRC, FMS/Y-Balance, and SFMA.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Micaela Kennedy PT, DPT to Team OTB!

Dr. Micaela is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) who recently graduated from Rutgers University’s DPT program. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Science from the University of Connecticut, which provided a strong foundation for her career in rehabilitation and movement science.

Dr. Micaela has gained diverse clinical experience working in hospital-based physical therapy as well as school-based pediatrics, allowing her to work with patients across the lifespan and with a variety of needs. She has developed a particular passion for orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, where she enjoys helping individuals return to the activities they love with confidence and resilience.

As a runner herself, Dr. Micaela has a special interest in working with the running community. She understands firsthand the demands of training and racing, and she strives to help runners stay healthy, improve performance, and recover from injury. Her goal is to provide individualized care that empowers patients to achieve their goals, whether that’s preparing for a major race or staying active and pain free.

Dr. Micaela is excited to be part of the Out of the Box team and is committed to growing as a clinician while delivering evidence-based care to all patients!
