Texas Children’s Hospital North Austin is offering FREE Cardiac Sports Clearance Clinics this summer for youth ages 12–18!

• Saturday, July 19
• Saturday, August 16
🕘 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Walk-in during this time, but pre-registration is required)

❓ Common Questions About the Free Heart Screenings

Q: Is this the same as a sports physical?
🛑 No. This heart screening focuses only on cardiac health (EKG and possibly echocardiogram).
✅ You still need a sports physical from your pediatrician for full clearance to play.

Q: Who should get a heart screening?
Any teen ages 12–18, especially if they:

Play sports or do intense physical activity

Have a family history of heart disease or sudden cardiac death

Have had chest pain, fainting, dizziness, or palpitations

Have never had an EKG

Q: Do I still need to see my pediatrician?
