In teens and high masking adults this often looks and feels like extreme anxiety or panic attacks. Understanding the need and having accomodations or the ability to ask for it are so important. Dyregulation in children and teens can show up in a variety of ways, including eye-rolling and back-talking. Learning to regulate ourselves and helping co-regulate with our kids is essential in helping them grow and learn to appropriately react to their own internal emotional struggles.

This is something I see so much of. Stop shrinking for others emotional chaos. You are not responsible for other people’s emotional reactions. You are responsible for your actions, not how people feel about how you feel! Be kind to yourself and keep regulating YOU! 🫶🏻
