In 2025, an estimated 13,360 new cases of invasive cervical cancer were diagnosed in the U.S. and about 4,320 women died from the disease.
Cervical cancer accounts for about 0.7% of all new cancer cases in the U.S. in 2025.
✅ The 5-year relative survival rate for cervical cancer is approximately 68% based on recent SEER data (2015–2021).

✅ The highest incidence and mortality rates occur in low- and middle-income countries, where access to HPV vaccination, screening, and treatment is limited.
✅ More than 90% of cervical cancer deaths worldwide occur in these settings.
✅ Almost all cervical cancer cases (≈99%) are linked to persistent infection with high-risk types of the human papillomavirus (HPV).
