🌎✨ A Taste of Honduras at Harmony Cedar Rapids! ✨🌎

Our residents at Harmony Cedar Rapids recently took a special trip—no passport required! 💛 Thanks to our very own CNA/CMA, Amy, residents had the opportunity to learn about the beautiful country of Honduras and experience a bit of its culture firsthand.

Amy has been a valued part of our Harmony family since May 2016, and over the past 3 years, she has dedicated her time to traveling to Honduras on week-long mission trips. 🇭🇳 Her compassion and commitment to serving others truly shine both inside and outside of our building.

Residents loved hearing Amy’s stories and learning about her experiences, but the highlight of the day was definitely the FOOD! 😋🍽️ Amy treated everyone to traditional Honduran favorites including plantains, refried beans, tortillas, fresh guacamole, and apricot & peach nectar—giving residents a delicious and authentic cultural experience.

Moments like these are what make Harmony Cedar Rapids so special. The relationships between our staff and residents go far beyond care—they’re built on connection, shared experiences, and learning from one another every day. ❤️

We are proud to be a skilled nursing community where culture, compassion, and connection come together to create meaningful moments.

We had a busy and festive St. Patrick’s Day at Harmony Cedar Rapids! ☘️💚

Our residents and staff enjoyed a delicious lunch of corned beef and cabbage, followed by lively entertainment from the Accordion Club that had everyone smiling and tapping along. Residents even got into the spirit with some green beer to celebrate the day! 🍀🎶

While the fun was happening, our nurses and CMA’s also took time to come together for an important meeting to learn about some exciting upcoming pharmacy changes—made even better with some festive green treats! 💚

It was a wonderful day filled with great food, music, learning, and lots of smiles. We are so lucky to celebrate moments like these together! ☘️✨

We felt extra lucky at Harmony Cedar Rapids last week! 🍀 Our team celebrated employee appreciation with some fun “Leprechaun Bait” treats. It was a small way to say thank you to the incredible staff who bring compassion, dedication, and positivity to our residents every day.

We are cereal-sly lucky to have you! 🥣💚 Thank you for everything you do to make our community such a special place. You truly are our pot of gold! 🌈✨

🥁🎶 Last week at Harmony Cedar Rapids, our residents enjoyed a lively and interactive performance from Drum Iowa called Drumming with the Elders!

Residents didn’t just watch the performance — they got to join in and participate in the drumming themselves. The room was filled with rhythm, laughter, and smiles as everyone played along and experienced the joy of music together. ❤️

One resident shared, “Oh I really loved it, it was fun to play along. I enjoyed it and I cannot wait to do it again.”

Moments like these remind us how powerful music can be in bringing people together, sparking joy, and creating meaningful experiences for our residents. We are so grateful to Drum Iowa for sharing their talent and energy with our community! 🥁✨

✨ Huge shoutout to Brandi Doonan, one of this year’s 9 Who Care Winners! Brandi’s all about spreading kindness; she delivers hundreds of handmade cards from local kids to nursing home residents (including our folks here at Harmony Cedar Rapids), and she also volunteers at Dogs Forever helping care for pets in need. 💌🐶💕

She says she “just does it because she loves it,” and honestly, that genuine heart shows. 🌟 Want a little reminder that small acts of kindness really do make a big difference? This is it. 🙌

The team at Harmony Cedar Rapids turned an ordinary shift into a bead-winning showdown full of laughs, friendly competition, and tons of fun. Residents loved cheering everyone on as staff battled it out to see who would end the day with the most beads! 🎉💜
