With trends pushing bigger, faster, and more dramatic results, it’s easy to believe that more product equals better results. But good aesthetic medicine is about far more than dosage alone.

As injectors, we’re evaluating anatomy, muscle movement, skin quality, facial balance, and long-term outcomes. Where something is placed, how it’s placed, and whether it even makes sense for your face matters just as much as how much is used.

As injectors, our job isn’t to simply deliver what’s requested or follow trends. It’s to make thoughtful, medical decisions that prioritize safety, balance, and results that age well.

Sometimes the best treatment plan is simply doing less and doing it well. 🤌

Sometimes the reason you don’t see a huge transformation is simple: there wasn’t much to “fix” in the first place. Subtle results often mean we’re maintaining, preserving, and preventing rather than correcting something severe (which is still important)! 🙌

What I’m grateful for — even as an aesthetic injector. 👇

Aging.

Yep… actually aging.

In a world that tells us to fight every line and freeze every expression, I’m grateful for the privilege of getting older. Every year, every wrinkle, every change is proof that I’m still here, still living, still growing.

Contrary to popular industry norms, my job is not to erase aging. It’s to help people feel confident moving through it. To support the skin and features you already have, not replace them. To enhance, not overdo.

Natural aging is a gift. And I’m grateful every day for the opportunity to help people embrace that with a little more ease and a lot more confidence.

So in this season of gratitude, I hope we can all extend a little more grace to ourselves. Aging is an honor, a privilege, and something not everyone gets to experience. Embrace it, celebrate it, and remember that every year holds its own kind of beauty.

Revive Aesthetics & Wellbeing is the sister spa of Revive Day Spa, Aesthetics, & Massage and Bodyworks in Cedar Falls. Revive in Cedar Rapids is currently under construction and set to open October 7th! The location is in the NewBo District, right behind Parlor City. Erica Nygaard, ARNP is the owner of the spa in Cedar Rapids. She has over four years of experience with a goal of helping others improve their health naturally along with the aesthetic services that are offered. There will be two Estheticians joiningRevive in the Cedar Rapids location. Combined, they have nearly 30 years of experience working with skin. We can call them the experts of skin!
