❄️ Winter is coming—and so is unpredictable Iowa weather.
At Health Hope Harmony, your safety always comes first. If severe weather makes travel unsafe, our physical offices may close for the day. But don’t worry—your care doesn’t stop.

Here’s what to expect during winter storms or closures:

✨ Most sessions will smoothly shift to telehealth when appropriate, so you can continue therapy from home.
✨ Current-day clients are notified first, followed by those with upcoming appointments.
✨ We’ll reach you through multiple channels—phone call, text, email, and social media updates—so you’re always in the loop.

Our goal is to keep you safe and supported, no matter the weather outside.
If we ever need to reschedule, your clinician will work with you to find the soonest available time.

Stay warm, stay safe, and take care of yourself this season. 🩵

You don’t have to earn rest. You don’t need to justify your feelings, your needs, or your boundaries.
Your body and mind deserve care simply because you exist.

Consider this your permission slip to slow down, take space, and just be.
Healing isn’t about perfection or productivity—it’s about showing up for yourself with compassion, even in small ways.

You are allowed to prioritize your well-being. You are allowed to say no. You are allowed to rest. 💛

No food is inherently “good” or “bad.”
Some foods nourish your body, some bring comfort, some spark memories, and some create connection with others—and all of them have a place in a balanced life.

Giving yourself permission to eat without judgment helps break the cycle of guilt and restriction.
When guilt softens, your relationship with food becomes calmer, your choices feel freer, and balance starts to emerge naturally.
Eating can be joyful, social, and nourishing all at once—without rules or shame.

Yes—this is a common experience, and it doesn’t mean therapy isn’t working.
When you begin exploring difficult feelings, memories, or patterns, it can temporarily feel more intense or uncomfortable. This is often a sign that real processing is happening.

The “dip” is usually followed by insight, relief, and gradual change as you develop coping skills and work through challenges.
Remember: progress in therapy isn’t always linear, and feeling uncomfortable can be part of growth—not failure.

This Thanksgiving, give yourself the gift of kindness—especially toward your body and mind. 🧡

Gratitude isn’t just for the holiday table—it can also be for yourself, your growth, and the small wins in your recovery journey.

Reminder that:

🌿 It’s okay to set boundaries this Thanksgiving.
🌿 It’s okay to skip the stress.
🌿 It’s okay to enjoy food without guilt.
🌿 You are enough—today and every day.

Take a moment to notice what you’re grateful for—inside and out. Honoring your feelings, celebrating your progress, and showing yourself compassion is part of the season too.

Your digital environment shapes your self-talk more than you might think.
Every scroll, like, or follow sends subtle messages about what’s “normal,” “desirable,” or “enough.”
Curating your feed isn’t about avoiding the world—it’s about protecting your mental space and giving yourself permission to see voices that uplift, educate, and celebrate body diversity.

Choosing what you consume is a form of self-care.
It’s an intentional way to honor your mind and body, reduce comparison, and create an online space that feels safe and affirming.
Your feed should serve you!

You can’t force someone into recovery—but you can make recovery feel safer.
Your presence matters more than you may realize.
When someone is navigating an eating disorder, even the smallest acts of understanding, patience, and emotional steadiness can help soften the fear that recovery brings.

You don’t have to have perfect words.
You don’t have to fix anything.
Simply being a grounding, nonjudgmental place can create moments of safety that make healing feel possible.

Connection is healing.
Gentle, consistent support truly makes an impact—sometimes in ways the person can’t express yet, but deeply feels.

Depression can feel heavy and all-consuming, but it is not the whole story of who you are.
Your strengths, your kindness, your resilience, your humor, your relationships—those matter just as much, even on the days when they feel hard to access.

You are allowed to hold your pain and still be so much more than it.
You’re not defined by your symptoms. You’re defined by your humanity.

You’re still you—and you’re worth showing up for. 🩵
