Are you on a grief journey? Are you seeking a welcoming community of others to connect with? The staff at Murdoch Funeral Homes welcomes all to attend our upcoming Journeys bereavement social group meeting on Monday, February 9th at 2:30 p.m. We will be joined by the incredible Jodi Stepanek with Big Heart Meditation and Mindfulness for an afternoon of guided, mindful art making as we create painted images on rocks and stones.

Cost is free. No prior artmaking experience is necessary.

WHERE?: The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood
520 Wilson Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids

WHEN?: 2:30-3:30 PM Monday, February 9th, 2026

Journeys was created in order to provide support to those in our community who have experienced the loss of someone they love, with the understanding that grieving hearts need care and connection.

It’s just 🎶one short day🎶 until The Gazette’s Festival of Trees! Come see Murdoch Funeral Home’s…wickedly…amazing entry decorated by our very own Jaime Murdoch Steward and Hailey Murdoch.

Visit the old Younkers space at Lindale Mall from 10am-5pm Saturday and Sunday for live music, a holiday train, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and more!

We’re proud to be part of the fun at the Center Point Harvest Festival again this year! Bring the whole family out to Fross Park tomorrow from 10 a.m. until noon for music, seasonal vendors, face painting, bounce house, community trunk or treat, and more.

Stop by our "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" trunk for a sweet treat! Can't wait to see you there!

Big day tomorrow, it's the 2025 Harvest Festival! Get those costumes ready, and head out to Fross Park at 10am!

Trunk or Treat with local businesses and organizations, grab some lunch from Meader’s Meats BBQ , take a ride around the trail with the Center Point American Legion - IA Post 297, get your face painted by the CPU Cheer Team, decorate a pumpkin, and more!

Come join us on Monday, October 13th at 2:30 p.m. at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood for a session focused on Senior Resources in Linn County. Let's learn about Encore Cafe, a nationally-recognized Senior Dining program in Cedar Rapids and Marion, which serves up great meals and good company for anyone aged 60 and better.

Our team was proud to participate in this year’s Putts for Prevention event in Uptown Marion, supporting Foundation 2 Crisis Services and their mission to provide trusted support when life gets tough. By raising awareness and funds for mental health services, we hope to make a positive impact on those in need.
