Student Yoga is now at

These classes are designed to give kids and teens real, science-backed tools to understand their brains and calm their nervous systems. Through movement, breath, simple education, and interactive practice, students learn how to notice what’s happening in their bodies, regulate stress, and build the kind of self-awareness that supports everyday life.

Each class blends short, age-appropriate teaching with engaging activities and a consistent yoga practice to build strength, confidence, and familiarity over time.

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s helping students feel more steady, more aware, and more in control of how they respond to what life throws at them.

This is the first of many, and we’re just getting started! Come join us 🤍 Sign up via Toula / mindbody app next week!

Today in our kids class at Toula Yoga we practiced progressive muscle relaxation and talked about neuralpathways - how to literally rewire our brains. It's amazing watching the fidgets and wiggles melt as we progressed through class. Your kids are smart! Looking forward to next week ❤️

The deeper I went into healing and rebuilding my faith, the more I realized the work was layered.

Not one breakthrough.
Not one book.
Not one practice.

Three areas kept showing up over and over:

1. Shoring up faith:
-Returning to Scripture.
-Asking hard questions.
-Finding wise Christians who weren’t afraid of honest conversation.
-Resources that helped me here:
• Shame Interrupted — Ed Welch
• slow reading of the Gospels
• thoughtful Christian mentors

2. Developing embodiment:
Many of us learned faith almost entirely in our heads. But when the nervous system is overwhelmed, peace can feel impossible to access.

Learning how the body processes stress changed everything for me.
Helpful resources:
• Dr. John Sarno’s work on mind-body pain (books free on hoopla)
• gentle yoga and somatic practices
• nervous system education 's book is amazing
• Johns Hopkins somatic movement resources (YouTube free)

3. Developing purpose (aka, who are you when not stuck in survival mode?):

Purpose rarely arrives fully formed.
For me it started with:
• connecting with like-minded women
• building confidence slowly. So slowly.
• following small nudges to help others

Often purpose unfolds simply by lifting our heads and doing the next right thing (a nod to )

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
— Psalm 119:105 (ESV)
One step at a time. 🤍

When that weight starts to crack the version of faith you inherited, you usually have two options:
Drop everything and walk away.
Or start asking honest questions.

If faith is truly a relationship with God, honesty has to be part of it.

Sometimes the first step is simply saying the hard thing out loud:
“I’ve seen the work of a good God…
but I’m not sure it applies to me.”
Say it to God.
Say it to yourself.
Say it to someone you trust.
Then start digging.
Read the Gospels.

Ask the questions you didn't think you were allowed to ask.
Find a community that allows struggle — not one that never challenges you, but one that makes room for the questions in the first place.

Faith that survives honest searching usually comes out steadier on the other side.
Not louder.
Not trendier.
Just deeper.
