Many people are surprised to learn that LASIK can be more affordable than expected, especially when you factor in the long-term cost of glasses and contacts. And while most insurance plans don't cover LASIK, there may still be options that help make it more affordable.

If you've been thinking about LASIK, start with a free screening at Iowa Eye Center.

Our team will evaluate your vision, explain your options, and help you understand what to expect, including costs and payment options. It's a simple first step toward clearer vision.

☀️ It's the first day of spring, and that means longer days, brighter sunshine, and more time outdoors.

Don't forget one of your most important warm-weather essentials: sunglasses. 😎

Think they're just for style? Think again! They're actually one of the easiest ways to protect your eye health:

1️⃣ Help prevent cataracts. UV rays accelerate cataract formation, leading to cloudy vision and the potential for surgery.

2️⃣ Lower the risk of macular degeneration. Sun exposure can damage your retina over time, increasing the risk of permanent vision loss.

3️⃣ Prevent painful eye conditions. Sunglasses help prevent sunburned eyes (photokeratitis) and the development of growths like pterygium.

4️⃣ Protect the delicate skin around your eyes. This thin skin is especially vulnerable to sun damage, premature aging, and skin cancer.

5️⃣ Improve comfort and visibility. Reducing glare helps you see more clearly while driving, exercising, or enjoying time outside.

Opportunities like this allow our physicians to stay current on the latest developments in ophthalmology and continue providing expert eye care right here at home.
