And she’s here!! Nyota, whose name means “star” in Swahili, is an embodiment of female empowerment. She was designed to inspire strength and unwavering grace. The star emblazoned on her chest serves as a nod to her name and symbolizes hope and resilience. It’s a representation of the battles fought and the victories earned, both seen and unseen. Nyota shines as a tribute to strength, courage, and the brilliance within every woman who dares to rise.
And she is now hanging in QuiltCon 2026, where only 23% of submitted quilts were accepted. I am super proud and honored that she was chosen to be included.

It’s happening!!! The BIG show is this week, and so it’s almost time to release this design to the world! I am absolutely honored to have a quilt hanging in Quilt Con. To enter this show, one must submit 3 photos. One must be a closeup of the front…. Stay tuned to see more of it and for the pattern release!!

I sure had a fun time in a class with Corey yesterday at Box Car! As per my usual, I had to do my own colorway….almost exactly the one I used for the original Starrt Up and Starr Struck.

Foundations was created in honor of 6 great women who have been influential in my life. Ranging from my Momma to one that stood in the gap when I lost her…from my Aunt to my grandmother in law…. and a couple of amazing women that I grew up with. Each were a mountain of strength and inspiration in my life, and all lost in the past 5 years. I think they all would have loved this design that I dedicate to them, and I hope y’all do too! I’m excited to announce this pattern has now entered the testing phase and will released in a 20” and 40” version soon!!

I loved getting my absolute favorite people and quilty businesses all in one place!! I’ve been planning this meeting of the creative minds for about a year. We might have some things in the works, but until then, this amazing shop in Taos, NM is gearing up for their first shop hop!!
