Closing of Cumberland River Hospital

Celina, Tenn. – Cumberland River Hospital (CRH) has announced that it will be permanently closing on March 1, 2019 at 7:00am. No services, including ER, inpatient and outpatient services, will be available at CRH for patients after the closing date.
The Cumberland River Hospital Board of Trustees voted to close the hospital during its regularly held meeting on January 24, 2019.

“It is with deep regret that we have to make this announcement,” said Paul Korth, CEO. “We have worked diligently to avoid closing Cumberland River Hospital but have been unable to successfully arrange any other option.”

The decision to close CRH has been made following years of insufficient revenue resulting in significant financial losses from declining reimbursements and declining patient volumes.

All CRH employees will receive an individual letter outlining severance pay and benefits as well as notification of an on-site health fair.

**FLU RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE**
We want to protect you and our patients!

CRH will begin to restrict visitors under the age of 16 from visiting patients beginning Monday, December 24th.

Children may be in the main waiting area. However, it is highly encouraged that all ages not visit the hospital, if at all possible, to limit exposure and help in spreading the flu. As always, we do make exceptions for end of life situations and other special circumstances.

Here are some tips to be proactive in preventing the spread of the flu:

• Wash hands/using hand sanitizer often, and encourage and provide those around you with wipes/washcloths for handwashing
• Avoid touching your face whenever possible
• Cover your cough and sneeze into your elbow
• Be diligent in cleaning frequently touch surfaces- telephones, cell phones, desks, door k***s, etc.
• Isolate (droplet) anyone with flu like symptoms- cough, fever, aches, headache
• Stay home if you are sick. You must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before you can return to work, school etc.
