We are a faith-driven nonprofit organization that uses a business model to lift communities out of poverty

OUR VISION
To see a world free of dependency & full of dignity

OUR MISSION
To break cycles of dependency and poverty by investing in and operating faith-driven, locally-owned, sustainable social enterprises. WHAT WE DO
We build and operate high-quality and self-sustaining schools, hospitals, and other social enterprises that help Ugandans lift their communities out of poverty and thrive for generations. WHAT ARE SOCIAL ENTERPRISES? Social enterprises are businesses committed to addressing social and community needs, prioritizing impact over maximizing profit. WHY MUSANA? When you give to Musana, you empower locals with the infrastructure they need to make long-term change within their own communities.

Imagine walking an hour every day just to get to school.

That’s Mukisa’s daily reality. For many children in Budaka District, the journey is even longer, sometimes up to two hours each way. By the time they arrive, they’re already exhausted. How can a child concentrate and learn when they’re drained before the lessons even begin?

Most arrive late and leave early to avoid walking home in the dark.
But it doesn’t have to stay this way. The Musana Nursery & Primary School – Budaka is now under construction, and with your support, Mukisa could have a new school just five minutes from home by 2026.

This week, Musana’s message was heard in the halls of Parliament, the future of development lies in enterprise, not aid.

Hosted in the Churchill Rooms at the House of Commons, our Aid to Enterprise event brought together MPs, faith-based organisations, and development leaders for an evening of vision and challenge.

With support from Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP and hosted by MP Mike Wood, the event celebrated Musana’s sustainable model. One that empowers communities through enterprise, creating dignity, ownership, and long-term impact.

Together, we’re redefining what development can look like.

Joan dreams of becoming a nurse, but her dream is on hold because her grandmother cannot afford school fees.

Joan is one of many children in Mayuge District, Eastern Uganda, whose future has been delayed by a lack of access to quality education.
It’s not too late for Joan to chase her dream. Musana is building the Musana Nursery & Primary School – Mayuge, a place where children like Joan can learn, grow, and unlock their potential.

Your support can change her story. Together, we can make sure Joan is back in school by 2026 so she can work towards becoming the nurse she dreams to be.

This year-end, be part of something bigger.

For the past 15 years, Musana has been the light across the communities of Iganga, Kaliro and Kamuli, uplifting lives through quality education, accesible healthcare and economic empowerment.
Thousands of children have passed through Musana schools, advanced to higher education, graduated, and are now contributing to the transformation of their communities.

Now, it’s time to extend this light to the children of Budaka and Mayuge, to give them the chance to sit in classrooms equipped with books, pencils, and all they need to build a brighter future.

Musana is building two new nursery & primary schools in Mayuge and Budaka.

We invite you to build with us, so that together, we can shine the light in Mayuge and Budaka.

More than 100 guests gathered in Kentucky this month to celebrate Musana’s mission, and together, they raised an incredible $321,000 to support the expansion of our schools, hospitals, and businesses in Uganda.

Our first-ever Taste to Transform Kentucky brought community, generosity, and purpose together for an unforgettable night at the Polo Barn at Saxony Farm.

Kalungi’s story perfectly captures what we mean by making quality education accessible to children in Uganda’s rural districts.

She no longer has to wake up at 3 a.m. just to reach school. Today, she gets the rest she needs, and that means she can stay focused, energized, and ready to learn. You can help make education accessible for children in Budaka and Mayuge, where we are building new nursery and primary schools.

Schools should prepare students not just for exams, but for the real world. Too often, there’s a gap between classroom learning and everyday life — and that’s why we equip our students with practical vocational skills.

It was a privilege to see our students proudly showcase their creations during the Vocational Skills Exhibition. From tailoring and plumbing to knitting and other hands-on projects, their displays reflected creativity, innovation, and confidence.
