What my puppy and her sister taught me about motivation… 🐶
…and why you still feel stuck (even when you’re trying) 🤔

Two dogs from the same litter.
Brought up in different homes.
Completely different motivation.

Bella? She’ll do anything for a treat 🍖
Dua? She lives for “good girl” 🐾💛
Same DNA. Different drivers.

And humans? We’re no different.
What actually motivates you?

Is it checking the box and getting it DONE? ✅
Visualizing the outcome—seeing it happen? 🎯
Money tied to a goal? 💰
Helping someone else win? 🤝
Creating something you're proud of? ✨
Or… is it something deeper? 👇

For a lot of people, the biggest driver isn’t pleasure—
it’s deciding: “I don’t want to feel like this anymore.” 🔥

And here’s something most people don’t realize…
Sometimes the things we think motivate us…
actually slow us down. ⚠️

Research (like work from Dr. Emily Balcetis featured on the Huberman Lab Podcast) shows that constantly visualizing the end result can calm your nervous system… 🧠
and reduce your drive to act.

This was a GAME CHANGER for my health....

I'm incredibly grateful 🙏for essential oils and Tracey Gardner for introducing them into my life many years ago. Essential oils are the first resource I go for when I have any issues or problems to solve with my health and wellbeing. Long ago, I started with a blend of Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint to support my seasonal sensitivity to things growing and pollinating. Long term use actually strengthened my immune system and I rarely am sick. Before, I was a regular patient of the ENT MD and a regular customer of the local pharmacy. I have not been back to either since for more than 10 years! The more I study and learn about essential oils the benefits abound!

BEWARE, of purchasing essential oils online or in the store. They are concentrated and when distilled improperly, the plant material isn't handled correctly, it comes from a hybrid seed or it's laden with pesticides then you may be putting toxins into your cells whether you inhale, rub it on your skin or put it in your drink or food. For this reason alone, I only use essential oils from a company that can ensure purity and control from Seed to Seal.

Also NOTE: to get long term results one must be consistent over time in their use.

As people age, natural changes occur in the cardiovascular system that can contribute to rising blood pressure. Blood vessels gradually lose elasticity and become stiffer, making it harder for the heart to pump blood efficiently, which increases vascular resistance. In addition, age-related shifts in kidney function and hormonal regulation can further influence fluid balance and blood pressure control.

A controlled clinical study evaluated the effects of inhaling lemon EO on blood pressure in elderly adults with high blood pressure (hypertension). Five drops of lemon EO were applied to cotton from which the participant inhaled for 10 minutes. Lemon EO reduced both systolic and diastolic blood pressure. The average blood pressure in the lemon group prior to inhalation was 154.9/95.1 and 138.0/82.2 after inhaling lemon. While the control groups before and after was 153.6/95.1 and 154.3/93.7. This suggests that inhaling lemon EO for short periods can meaningfully reduce blood pressure in elderly adults with hypertension.

My A1c was in the prediabetic range , I had energy crashes mid-day, and my focus wasn't what it used to be—this happened too quickly to be just aging 🧐

I found a way to support my body to regulate blood sugar and reduce strain. Going to the gym and doing intervals on the elliptical is easier. 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

If your goal is steady energy, better focus, and staying strong 💪(not just losing weight)…
it may be time to think beyond calories and start thinking metabolic resilience.

Have you ever felt unmotivated to do your exercise routine 🏃‍♀️ or even the minimal 🧘‍♀️self care things you know you need to do?

I'm no stranger to this and it seems to get harder to get motivated the older I get! Luckily 🍀 I have learned to use some simple techniques 🧰 to shift when I feel frustrated, overwhelmed, down or just not motivated.

I'll be teaching my students how to lean into nervous system tools to shift emotions 🌌, understand and change how we react to and minimize pain.
