MyCare Health Center’s CEO, Karen Wood, is in Washington, D.C. this week participating in the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) Policy & Issues Forum. This annual event brings together community health center leaders from across the country to engage directly with legislators, educating and advocating on behalf of the patients and communities we serve. This year marks the 60th Anniversary of CHCs!

From addressing health disparities to advancing solutions that tackle social determinants of health, community health centers play a vital role in ensuring access to high-quality, affordable care. We’re proud to have Karen representing MyCare and championing the needs of our communities on a national stage.

Congratulations to our January Employee Spotlight winner, Lashonda Brimmer-Jones! Lashonda is a RN Case Manager at MyCare. She finds her greatest joy in helping patients and seeing the smiles on their faces which she counts as her proudest moment at MyCare. Outside of work, she is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loves traveling, shopping, and enjoying great food. A true “jack of all trades,” Lahonda’s talents go far beyond nursing; she’s also an accountant, chef, dental assistant, and hairstylist. Living by the quote, “If you know better, you do better,” she is happiest when she’s doing what she loves and feeling fulfilled in life. Thank you for all you do for our patients Lashonda!
