Today, we celebrate our MyCare physicians, and physicians everywhere in recognition of National Doctors’ Day! This is a nationwide observance dedicated to honoring physicians for their expertise, responsibility, and continued commitment to patient care. Observed annually on March 30, it creates a natural point of recognition for the role doctors play in the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities, often during critical and life-changing moments.

Starting April 1st at 9 AM, Mount Clemens residents will be able to apply for Rx Kids, a program providing direct financial support to families during pregnancy and the first months of a baby's life. This is a meaningful opportunity for families in our community, and we want to make sure as many people as possible know about it.

To be eligible, you must be a Mount Clemens resident, at least 16 weeks pregnant, or the parent or legal guardian of a child six months old or younger born on or after April 1st.

Qualifying families can receive $1,500 during pregnancy and $500 per month for the first six months after birth to help cover essential needs. That is up to $4,500 in direct financial assistance during one of the most critical periods in a child's life.

🍎 March is National Nutrition Month! 🥕

Good nutrition is the foundation of good health and access to nutrition services is essential in building strong, thriving communities. We support clinicians, including registered dietitians and other primary care providers, who serve in communities with limited access to care. By strengthening the health workforce, NHSC helps expand access to nutrition counseling, chronic disease prevention, and whole-person care where it’s needed most. Our providers help patients make informed food choices, manage health conditions, and build lifelong healthy habits. 💚

🫶👏Congratulations to Sherry Harris for being selected as MyCare's Employee Spotlight winner for the month! Sherry is a Medical Assistant at our Mount Clemens location. She is from St. Claire Shores and is very involved with her church. Her proudest moment at MyCare was being able to provide a set of gloves and hat to one of our patients after theirs was stolen. Her favorite quote is by Mahatma Gandhi, "Live as if you were to die tomorrow, but learn as you will live forever". Thank you Sherry for all you do for the MyCare team and our patients! 😀

Yesterday MyCare's CEO, Karen Wood, was joined by members of the Michigan Primary Care Association to meet with our state legislatures and their staff in Lansing to advocate for important issues and causes related to health centers in Michigan and the overall need for improvements to our healthcare delivery systems.
