Congratulations to Angela Broaden for being selected as MyCare's Employee Spotlight winner! Angela is a Medical Assistant at our Center Line location. She takes great pride in caring for her patients and ensuring their needs are met, which she considers her proudest accomplishment so far. Outside of work, Angela enjoys sports and karaoke, and loves spending quality time with her family cooking, playing games, and creating lasting memories together. A fun and unique fact about Angela is that she loves taking road trips just to try new places to eat. She is happiest when she’s spending time with her family and singing. Her favorite quote is “Be the change you want to see”

MyCare is excited to announce that we are partnering with RxKids as they expand their program for residents of Mount Clemens and Center Line! Today our CEO, Karen Wood (pictured here) was joined by local state and county leaders in sharing this exciting news. Programs like RxKids align directly with MyCare Health Center’s role as an FQHC in the communities we serve.

Eligibility requirements are as follows:

Residency:
The patient lives within the city limits of Mt. Clemens or Center Line, Michigan. Only residents of participating communities are eligible. [rxkids.org]
• Pregnancy or Infant Age:
o The patient is at least 16 weeks pregnant, OR
o The patient is the parent or legal guardian of a baby who is 6 months old or younger, and the baby was born after RxKids launched in that community. [rxkids.org]
• Age Requirement:
o Applicants must be 18 years or older, OR
o At least 16 years old with parent or legal guardian consent.
• No Income Requirements:
There are no income, employment, or work requirements to qualify. RxKids is universal within each participating community.
• Documentation Needed:
Applicants will be asked to verify:
o Identity
o Residency in Mt. Clemens or Center Line
o Pregnancy status or legal guardianship of the infant
Eligible families can receive:
• $1,500 one time prenatal payment (at or after 16 weeks of pregnancy), and
• $500 per month for up to six months after the baby is born

In collaboration with the Macomb County Health Department, we are excited to share a FREE three-part workshop series they will be offering at our Mount Clemens location this May for anyone interested. These sessions will focus on financial literacy, chronic disease education, and housing resources. As health care costs rise, this integration isn’t just innovative; it’s practical, efficient, and improves outcomes for patients.

As NACHC Chief Health Officer Dr. Luis Padilla explains in MedCity News:
