The residents were hesitant to join in this game called Shovel Race. Little did they know the shovel was a plastic spoon. 😂 The object of the game was to be the first to get all the cotton balls in the solo cup. Olga & Gloria won the most times. Genean just wanted to watch in the background.

Our activities room was packed with residents ready to celebrate the coming of 2026. Our chefs made hors d'oeuvres which included pigs in a blanket & mini cheese quesadilla. They also supplied tortilla chips with salsa. For dessert they had their choice of 3 different kinds of mini cupcakes: red velvet cream cheese, lemon cream cheese & raspberry cream cheese. They had wine, beer & a special holiday punch. Believe it or not, no one wanted the sparkling apple cider. They enjoyed holiday music as well as a game of New Year's trivia. Did you know that over 1 ton of confetti is dropped on Time's Square on New Year's Eve? And that the New Year's Eve ball weighs over 12,350 pounds and is made of thousands of Waterford crystals? We didn't!

They all enjoyed the party so much!

These residents certainly got a workout playing this game. It was called Carol-Cut Off. They passed the beach ball as long as the Christmas carols were playing. Once the music stopped, whoever had the ball was out. Gloria won every round!
