Keto Chips 😁

Ingredients
1 large zucchini
1/2 tsp salt divided
Avocado oil spray (or 1 to 2 tsp liquid oil)
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp ground pepper
Additional salt to taste

Instructions
Slice zucchini crosswise into 1/8 inch thick slices using a mandolin slicer or food processor.
Place the zucchini in layers into a colander or sieve, sprinkling with a little salt with each layer. (You will use about 1/4 tsp salt). Let drain one hour.
Preheat the oven to 225F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Lay the zucchini slices out on a tea towel and pat dry with another tea towel. Then lay them out on the prepared baking sheets, close together but not touching. Spray lightly with the avocado oil spray or brush lightly with liquid oil.
In a spice shaker, combine the paprika, pepper, and the remaining salt. Sprinkle over the tops of the zucchini.
Bake 70 to 90 minutes, until dry, browned and crisp, rotating sheets halfway through baking. If some chips are crisp early, remove them from the pans and return the rest to the oven.
Sprinkle with additional salt to taste. Serve immediately.
Store in a covered container on the counter for up to 3 days. If they soften as they sit, simply re-crisp them in a warm oven.

What Muscles do Lunges Work?

1.Hip muscles. Lunges work all of the gluteal muscles in the hips, primarily the gluteus maximus that is used to extend your hips. Taking large steps during a lunge can further engage this muscle. The gluteus minimus and gluteus medius are also used to stabilize your body throughout the lunge.

2.Thigh muscles. The quads in the thigh are one of the primary muscle groups engaged during a lunge. All four quadriceps are used to extend the knees. These are worked more extensively when taking smaller steps. The hamstrings are used to keep the knees stable and help to extend the gluteus maximus in the hips.

3.Abdominal muscles. During a lunge the transverse abdominis muscle is compressed to help support the abdominal walls. You will also use the obliques to help the torso remain stable and upright while moving the hips out to the side during a lunge.

4.Lower leg muscles. The soleus muscles in the calf are used when you flex the back leg, particularly when the heel is raised. You also use the gastrocnemius muscles in the calf to keep the knee stable while you lunge.

CELEBRATE SMALL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

It’s great to set big goals, but a big goal can be scary and daunting so along with my big goals I also set smaller ones. Setting smaller goals that I can celebrate each week or month helps in achieving those larger goals. It gives me renewed energy to keep pushing towards the bigger goals. No matter what your goals may be, celebrate the small steps along the way. After all, happiness is not a destination it’s a journey.

We stand, sit and bend throughout the day, whether we’re at home, in the office, or out for entertainment. Functional exercises are critical for good posture & body alignment, as well as balance, injury prevention, and core stability. Squats are a functional move we perform in everyday life.
Good squats are good for you - Bad squats can hurt you! the picture below shows bad & good squats. If a bad squat is performed your muscle is not getting worked on, you're causing your joints to hold the weight and no progress will be shown. If our glutes are strong our lower back has protection(our lower back is an area that is prone to injury also) with strength in our lower back goes hand in hand with strong core.

One of the best things about squats is that they’re complex exercises that recruit multiple muscles; therefore you expend more energy & burn calories more efficiently. Think of them as smart exercises, but remember that anything that makes your body smarter is going to require practice.
