It’s totally normal to get stuck in a pattern- those neurological pathways are tough to change! It doesn’t mean you’re a mess or that something is wrong with you—it just means you’re human. Our brains like what’s familiar, so we repeat it. The important thing to remember is that slipping into a pattern doesn’t mean you’re stuck there forever.

The hardest part is usually just noticing that you’re stuck in the first place. Sometimes that means stepping back a bit—changing your routine, taking a break, or getting some distance. Other times it’s more about mentally stepping back, like reflecting on what you want, checking in with your values, or imagining the version of you you’re trying to grow into. And you can always lean on other people to help you see things differently.

Once you have that bit of perspective, you can start asking yourself: What small choices could actually support me better right now? 🩵

Sometimes our emotions blend in ways that don’t fit neatly into one word.

Joy and sadness can mix into nostalgia.
Fear and anger can turn into protectiveness.
Even disgust and sadness might show up as irony or exhaustion.

Learning to name what we feel — really feel — is a powerful act of self-awareness and self-kindness. 💛

It’s not about fixing or judging emotions, just noticing the mix and saying, “Oh, this is what’s here right now.”
