Jo Ann Hediger, 83, of Salem
Jo was raised with a strong work ethic, and she had the natural drive to bring her best to every job. She was a loyal employee of various local businesses over the years, Demouline’s in Greenville and Centralia, Old Dress Factory in Centralia, Miss Elaine’s in Centralia, and Winning Edge in Centralia. Jo attended Barr Christian Shattuc UMC and was a part of the Young Christian Chapel.

She was a woman who believed that love was best shown through action. Whether she was baking beautiful wedding cakes for friends and family, carefully hand-sewing quilts that would warm generations, or preparing her home for gatherings filled with laughter, she gave her time and heart generously. Her kitchen was often the center of family life. Many special moments were shared around her table, where she delighted loved ones with home-cooked meals and her famous cherry delight.

More than anything, she will be remembered for the love she poured into the simple, meaningful things—bringing people together, making others feel welcome, and turning ordinary days into cherished memories. With loving remembrance, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose kindness, hard work, and devotion to family touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

Joseph Steven Davis, 69, of Odin
Joseph served his country with honor and pride in the United States Army. He was grateful for his employment as a mechanic where he could use his talented skill in welding to do repairs on whatever the customer needed. He enjoyed time spent in nature, camping and hiking trails. Joseph was an avid hunter and fisherman who liked the challenge of both. Joseph had a soft spot for animals, and his playful cats brought him a lot of joy. He appreciated quiet time reading a good book or playing solitaire. He was a member of the Stringtown Baptist Church in Missouri. 🤍Our condolences to Uncle D's family and friends.

Donald proudly served in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. After returning home, he attended Kaskaskia College where he received technical training in electrical work. He went on to build a long and dedicated career as a welder at Squibb Tank in Salem, IL where he worked for forty years.
Donald treasured the many lasting friendships he made throughout his life and was fondly known by most as “Uncle D”. He was renowned for his wit, humor, and lively personality. He enjoyed being outdoors, caring for his garden, and grilling out. He especially enjoyed when family and friends stopped by, always welcoming others with warmth and hospitality. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved watching the games on T.V., as well as old Western movies. He was known to still pick up the guitar to play and sing old country tunes, a longtime pastime that brought him much joy.

Thomas Timothy Lasley, 64, of Centralia
Throughout his life, Thomas wore many hats, working as a chef, providing security for federal buildings, and caring for the elderly. Above all, he was a devoted family man. Affectionately known as “Uncle Tim” to his nieces and nephews and as “Pops,” “PaPa,” and “Pee Paw” to his grandchildren — titles he wore with great pride — he cherished every moment spent with them. His love was steady, protective, and unconditional.

He found great joy in cooking, music, and WWE wrestling — passions he gladly shared with family and friends. He often prepared home-cooked meals as a true labor of love, and on Monday nights you could find him cheering loudly at the TV during wrestling, Thomas never met a stranger. His warm smile, hearty laugh, and open arms made everyone feel welcomed and at ease. Whether at a family gathering or among friends, he brought light, laughter, and unforgettable stories that filled the room. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

🕯️We see you and feel you for all this who are grieving the loss of a mom 🕯️

🕯️We see you and feel you for all this who are grieving the loss of a mom 🕯️

March 1st is Mother’s Memorial Day.

A day to pause.
A day to remember.
A day to honor the women who gave us life and still live within our hearts.

This candle is for every mother who is no longer with us.

Gone, but never forgotten.

The flame may flicker, but it does not go out — just like the love they planted in us.

Today, we light a candle not only in sorrow, but in remembrance.

For the bedtime stories.
For the warm hugs.
For the sacrifices we didn’t understand until we were older.

For the countless “I love you’s” that still echo in our hearts.

Heaven may hold our mothers now.

But we hold their love — and that is something time can never take away.
