In pharmacy (and honestly, in life) things are always changing!! If anything, that’s the only constant. 😉 This is a great reminder from our pharmacy assistant Matt to anticipate and embrace change. 💙💚

At both Chehalis Pharmacy and Centralia Pharmacy, we’ve had a lot of updates lately, from new pharmacy robots to evolving workflows and to growing patient volumes. 💊🙏🙌 Through all of it, what matters most to us hasn’t changed, and that’s taking great care of our patients as smoothly and safely as possible. 🫶

We also see the lives of our patients changing everyday too. We see when you start a new medication or have shifting health goals. 💊🏃‍♀️💙 That’s where our team comes in, working right alongside you to help make those transitions feel a little easier and more manageable. 💙

A common question we get at the pharmacy is: “Can I recycle my prescription bottle?” 🤔

While prescription bottles are made from recyclable plastic (Polypropylene, #5), Lewis County doesn’t accept them in curbside recycling. Most recycling centers won’t take them either because of their small size and the risk of medication residue.

🌟 HOWEVER, DON’T TOSS THEM! 🌟
These bottles are light-resistant, airtight, and made from food-safe plastic. Perfect for upcycling! Just give them a good wash and get creative with these ideas:
🌱 Seed storage
🍝 Dry food storage (spices, herbs, nuts, trail mix)
💍 Jewelry organizer
🔨 Nails, screws & bolts
🧵 Mini sewing kit
✈️ Travel shampoo & conditioner bottles

🏥 For vaccines received elsewhere, we do not have full access to those records.

This week on Capitol Hill, our pharmacy resident Anna is joining pharmacists from all across the country. We are advocating for solutions to the biggest challenges facing community pharmacies. 💚💙

That includes:
✔ Ending unfair PBM practices
✔ Protecting patient choice
✔ Ensuring fair reimbursement
✔ Expanding access to pharmacist-provided care

Because when pharmacies are pushed out, patients lose access.

We’re fighting for programs like Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and federal employee benefits to work better for patients and the pharmacies that serve them.

Meet Brooke, one of our incredible pharmacy assistants at Centralia Pharmacy! 💚💙💊 Brooke has been working in our pharmacy for 6 months now. She chose pharmacy because she truly loves helping people. 🫶 From day one, she’s brought such a positive, warm-hearted energy to the team. She is always willing to jump in, go the extra mile, and learn new things. 👏

One of her favorite parts of the job is “the amazing coworkers [she] gets to work alongside every day.” 💙💚 She also loves our Huckleberry Wiley Wallaby licorice! 😋

Outside the pharmacy, she loves hosting friends and playing board games. She’s also currently loving the book Remarkably Bright Creatures. 📕

Cascadia Pharmacy Group has PGY-1 Community-Based Residency spots available at independent pharmacy sites across Oregon and Washington.

We're looking for passionate, community-driven pharmacy grads who are ready to do more than dispense; residents who want to lead, grow, and help shape what independent pharmacy looks like for the next generation.

Our program is built for pharmacists who want to go deep:
💚 Hands-on leadership and program development experience
💙 Established clinical programs with real patient impact
💚 Pharmacist Provider Status integration
💙 Ownership and business plan training, because we believe residents should understand how to build, not just work
