To wrap up HOSA Week, we’re spotlightingBarbara Terry, HOSA Instructor at Bibb Medical Center.

Barbara has spent years helping students turn their interest in healthcare into a calling. “I love watching them grow,” she shared. “They come in unsure of themselves, and by the end, you can see their confidence, their spark, as they realize this is what they’re meant to do.”

She says her favorite part is seeing former students return to BMC as nurses, techs, and other healthcare professionals. “It’s one of the most rewarding parts of teaching, knowing that something we started together has come full circle.”

From classrooms to hospital floors, Barbara continues to inspire the next generation of healthcare heroes through mentorship, encouragement, and heart.

We’re looking for caring and compassionate RNs and LPNs to join our Nursing Home team, and Adelina Navarrete Aguilar, LPN, shared what inspired her to pursue nursing and why she loves working at Bibb Medical Center.

“I’ve always had a heart for helping others, even as a little girl I loved being there for people at church, school, or at home, as I learned more about nursing I knew it was where I belonged, caring for people during their most vulnerable moments is what truly fulfills me.”

Adelina began her journey in 2019 at Shelton, balancing school and hands-on experience as a PCA at DCH and later at UAB, when she was accepted into the nursing program it felt like everything fell into place, confirming that nursing was where she was meant to be.

Now, as an LPN at Bibb Medical Center Nursing Home, Adelina says every day brings something different, but her goal is always the same, “to make sure my residents feel cared for and heard throughout my shift.”

She encourages anyone considering a nursing position to take the leap, “I love what I do, even on the hard days, because the connections I’ve made with residents and coworkers make it so rewarding, everyone here works together to provide the best care possible, it’s inspiring to be part of a team where every role makes a difference.”

Halloween at BMC was full of fun and smiles!

We started the day with our Employee Costume Parade, spending time with residents around campus, and closed out the night celebrating at our third annual Fall Festival. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year’s event one to remember!
