What a blustery day for the Symphonic Band and the Marching Lions Band members who participated in the Centreville Veterans Day Ceremony today. The Symphonic Band presented a bit of music before the ceremony began, the members of the Marching Lions Band performed the Star Spangled Banner to help get things started, and the Symphonic Band presented a patriotic medley during the ceremony. We salute all of our Lions Band Alumni who are serving or have served, and we thank all of the veterans for their service and sacrifices that allowed us to freely gather together today to remember and honor them all.

Congratulations to the Marching Lions Band on your outstanding performance today at the MMBA State Championships! Your hard work paid off as you earned your season best score of 81.76 and a 6th place finish out of 13 Group 1A Bands. In addition to this great score, the Marching Lions Color Guard finished 5th out of 13 and the Marching Lions Percussion finished 4th out of 13. It was a great day, and we are so proud of you!

We took a short bit of time to reflect on the journey that we have had from May to today as we headed out to the last stop: MMBA (Maryland) State Championships. Each member received a new tradition to mark this special season and culminating day.

We had such a fun day celebrating our Seniors, being dressed as minions throughout the day, recognizing them at Senior Night, and capping it all of with a win.

This is what happens when you are trying to get that last field rehearsal in before heading to State Championships on Saturday, and the weather just won't cooperate. Oh, and Halloween is on Friday as well. And, the last home football game tomorrow night. Doesn't everyone have an indoor rehearsal space that they can march their entire show in, and do it in costumes?

Some information for those planning to come to Towson on Saturday to chear on the Marching Lions.

Quick facts about State Championships on Saturday for spectators:

Primary parking is in Lot 8, accessible from the south entrance of Auburn Dr. If that is full, head north on Osler to Lot 3 (Center for the Arts) or the Union Garage.

Tickets are $15 online and in-person. Link in the comments. You'll get a handstamp for re-entry if you need to leave.

Concessions and merch are a mix of cashless and cash only. Bring a mix of payment methods.
