The beauty of the Bay and the evening sky. Took these while enjoying a weekend with my brother and sister-in-law before Thanksgiving. So calming - really helped me work on my "Do Not Worry" principle - it seems that is one of the hardest principles for me! Can't you just 'feel' the deep fresh breath of air and quiet?! So much joy at being able to share that time and the incredible evenings of Mom Nature's artistry. Feeling so grateful and blessed.

Last night, while sitting on the front porch drinking a cup of tea (a cup of enlightenment as my Komyo Reiki Sensei says), I was visited by a catbird. He flew onto the back of the porch chair first and looked at me. Then, he hopped down to the cement and looked at me again. Finally, he popped over to the kibble dish, took one in his mouth and flew off. Obviously, that was the target of his visit, but it did my heart good that he felt comfortable enough to spend a few moments before flying off.

Just a single set of seconds with Mother Nature's creature can lift my heart and remind me we are connected and can find a bit of joy in that moment.

Love to watch the mockingbirds stop and wash up at the ring cake pan bathtub Charlie and I made on the stand out front. Enjoy this beautiful spring cool and sunny weather! Now....onto more w**d whacking and fun....!

It is special when you get to share time with a friend these days. Doubly special when that time is spent admidst the wild and groomed beauty of Longwood Gardens. Had a delightful afternoon with a dear friend yesterday to do just that. The colors are popping - both outside and in the conservatory. Joy in many ways!

Having a little fun looking at things differently. I think a little bit of imagination is good for the spirit, the inner child and let's us look at life creatively and open our hearts and minds to opportunities and other thoughts.

For example, is this just a fallen tree covered by the winter storm OR is this the prow of a land ship breaching the snow??? It could be the beginning of a fantastical story world......couldn't it?

Feeling love and Gratitude tonight for the many years of joy with my guy and our furry friends. Like all little kids, Buster was one who was most happy with just the box! I am so thankful each Christmas is a special time to love those you are close to and be caring and kind to all living beings. Wherever you are Buster and Beast, I love and miss you and thank you for sharing your lives and joys with me. ❤️

Anybody want to love an older kitty?

Sweet Cloudy is a 10-year-old beauty and has been so sad as he's been continuously overlooked by potential adopters because of his age... but he knows his time will come.

His lifelong owner, unfortunately, was unable to care for him anymore due to his age... this was a very hard and tear-filled goodbye, please no judgments. Cloudy is a sweet and loving cat who is just looking for a lap to lay in, a window to sunbathe in, and some much-deserved affection!

Cloudy enjoys lounging around with his loved ones and other feline friends. He currently lives in the Cat Department office with about 4 other cats. He sits in the window patiently looking out the window, wondering when his adopter in shining armor will come! We promise it's not just because he loves sunspots!!

Enjoying some of the fall flora while the sun is still warm. I found we have a Porcelain Berry vine (a volunteer), a Kosa Dogwood (another volunteer) and of course some deer-loving poke berry plants. I haven't a clue where the first 2 came from - all our other dogwoods are the white regular berry type and the Porcelain Berry vine just appeared on the wood pile out back. Lovin' Mom Nature's ability to put color everywhere - even as the evenings are getting cooler. Enjoy this last day of September - ALREADY (?!)
