100% Patient Satisfaction in Surgery

We’re proud to share that Chadron Hospital’s Surgery Department recently received a 100% “Would Recommend” rating from patients.

After surgery, patients receive a confidential survey about their experience. In our most recent reporting period, October through January, every patient who responded said they would recommend Chadron Hospital for surgical care.

This outstanding score reflects the dedication of our perioperative nurses, surgical team, anesthesia providers, physicians, and support staff who work every day to ensure patients receive safe, compassionate, high-quality care.

Exploring Careers in Nursing at Chadron Hospital
Earlier this week, we welcomed students from Mr. Bradley's Chadron High School Anatomy class for a hands-on learning experience at Chadron Hospital. Each student in the class selects a healthcare field for a field trip, and CHS senior Macie chose nursing.
During their visit, students toured several nursing areas of the hospital before breaking into smaller groups to participate in interactive learning stations.
One group visited Wound Care, where they practiced curettage techniques using fruit to simulate wound treatment and learned about different types of wounds, as well as the dressings and supplies used in wound care nursing.
The second group worked with our general nursing team, where they practiced a variety of essential clinical skills including listening to heart and lung sounds with a stethoscope, checking vital signs, placing an IV catheter, giving an injection, performing chest compressions on a mannequin, and using an ambu bag to ventilate a patient mannequin.
Experiences like this help students explore careers in healthcare and see firsthand the skills and teamwork involved in patient care.
Thank you to Mr. Bradley, the CHS anatomy class, and our nursing staff for making this learning experience possible.

Today, members of our team (pictured: Operating Room and Pharmacy) at Chadron Hospital wore blue to help raise awareness for Colon Cancer Awareness Month.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when caught early through routine screening. By wearing blue, our team is helping spark conversations about prevention, early detection, and the importance of regular screenings.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. 💙

Chadron Hospital is proud to partner with Dr. Dockweiler, M.D. to provide colorectal cancer screening and surveillance services for our community.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when detected early. Screening can help identify concerns before symptoms appear and can even prevent cancer by detecting and removing polyps.

Services include:
• Screening colonoscopies
• Evaluation after a positive Cologuard test
• Care for patients with a family history of colorectal cancer
• Polyp surveillance and follow-up care

If you are due for screening or have risk factors, talk with your primary care provider today about a referral.
