Some-bunny told us it’s time for our annual Easter Egg Hunt at Crest View Care Center in Chadron 🐰🥚🌷

Join us at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 3, for an egg-stra fun afternoon designed just for kids 5 and younger. It’s the perfect chance for your little bunnies to gather goodies without any big-kid competition hopping ahead of them.

And here’s the best part – the Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance! 🐣✨ Bring your baskets and your cameras, because you won’t want to miss a hare-raising photo op.

We can’t wait to see every-bunny there!

Today I want to share a story that meant a lot to me ❤️

One of the privileges of being Administrator at Crest View Care Center is getting to spend one-on-one time with our residents.

Today I had the opportunity to take Virginia to her eye appointment in Scottsbluff. Virginia was born and raised there, but after her husband passed away just before Christmas, she made the move to be closer to her daughter and joined us here in Chadron.

We’ve made this trip before and usually head straight back after the appointment. This time, though, she mentioned she would love to go to her favorite place – El Torito Grill. Her appointment was at 11:30 a.m., and I decided we could make that happen 😊

When we arrived, I realized the entrances didn’t have ramps. Before I could even figure out a plan, two kind Samaritans in the parking lot stepped in to help me get Virginia safely inside. The waitress immediately held the door, helped us to our table and made sure we were comfortable. She was quick with drinks, attentive with our order and the food was fantastic.

But the best part? Watching Virginia. Her face was absolutely glowing ✨

When it was time to leave, the waitress said, “Just a minute,” and disappeared into the kitchen. I stepped out to get our bus ready. When I came back in, she had recruited the cook, and together they rolled Virginia out in style. I didn’t have to lift a finger.

To the team at El Torito in Scottsbluff – thank you. Your kindness, teamwork and hospitality truly made Virginia’s day. And that made mine too.

We had a great Valentine’s Day celebration at Crest View. A big thank you to Shawn Delinger for providing the soundtrack to our afternoon – the smiles said it all 🎶

Congratulations to our newly crowned King and Queen 👑
King Darold F. and Queen Joan W., voted in by our residents and staff. ❤️

We were also showered with kindness from the community through beautiful Valentine’s Day cards. Thank you to Chadron Christian Church, American Legion, First Baptist, the Health Profession Club at the college, Consuming Fire Dance Studio and so many others who took the time to think of our residents. Your cards truly made the day extra special 💌

Days like this remind us how loved our residents are – not just inside our walls, but throughout the entire community. 💕

Activity Professionals Week recognizes the heart behind daily life in our community. Activity professionals create moments of connection, purpose and joy – from group programs to one-on-one visits – helping residents stay engaged and feel at home every day.

Being an Activity Director in a skilled nursing facility comes with unique challenges. Residents are at many different levels, and programming must be thoughtful, flexible and inclusive. It takes creativity, planning and genuine care to meet residents where they are.

The last day of 2025 was unseasonably warm and brought some unique visitors to Crest View. We spent the afternoon outside getting to know Dizzy the Mare and Jimmy the Mule! After we enjoyed our guests and the fresh air, we celebrated New Year's Eve indoors. We are excited for the new adventures we'll have in 2026.

The Crest View Care Center residents felt the love all season long thanks to this amazing community. From thoughtful gifts 🎁 and beautiful flowers 🌸 to music that filled our halls 🎶, you made the holidays bright.

We’re especially grateful for the volunteers who shared their talents and spent time visiting, laughing and making memories with our residents 🤍. And all the treats and goodies didn’t hurt either 🍪😉.

Your kindness turned ordinary days into something special, and our residents will be talking about this holiday season for a long time. Thank you for showing up for them in so many meaningful ways ✨🎄.
