It may surprise you, but one of the most common symptoms of dry eye is excessive tearing or watering of the eyes! Dry eye is the term used when the tear film of the eye is inadequate. When the corneal surface dries, the eye responds with reflex tearing to try and reestablish adequate lubrication. Unfortunately, this is not enough if you are experiencing chronic dry eye.
