Despite the curveballs Mother Nature is throwing at us this week, we’re still in awe over our beautiful porch pots done by the Picket Fence 👏🏼👏🏼

During this season of giving we not only want to give a shoutout to Chelsea for brightening up the front of our office, but to each of our fabulous patients as well.

We will be closed for the afternoon on Friday, December 12th so that our staff can enjoy an evening of togetherness and reminisce on the year we’ve had ❤️

👁️ November is Diabetes Awareness Month! 👁️

We always want to be sure to express the importance of attending your annual eye exam to everyone, but especially to those with diabetes. Diabetic Retinopathy is a condition that may occur to those with diabetes, causing damage to the retina.

The tiny blood vessels within the retina leak blood and other fluids, causing the retinal tissue to swell. This ultimately creates cloudy or blurred vision to the patient. Left untreated, and blindness can be an unfortunate result. Early detection and treatment help us to limit the potential for significant vision loss and to keep our patients seeing the best we can!

⁉️ Did You Know ⁉️ 👻 Halloween Edition 🎃

The American Optometric Association recommends the following tips for a safe Halloween:

• See an eye doctor for colored contacts, even if you have 20/20 vision! It's important to properly fit your lenses and give you a comprehensive exam to assess total eye health.
• Don't share your lenses with friends or family members so they can perfect their costume. This can spread bacteria and germs.
• No matter how tired you are after the Halloween festivities, do not sleep in your contacts and give your eyes a break.

Having been here the longest beside Dr. Permann, Jody helps in every aspect of patient care! As the office manager, she is the one keeping us in line and making sure we are up to speed on things. She’s also our billing and coding expert and has put in so much time and effort to successfully climb her way to the top. Most importantly though, she is our optical fashion expert! No matter the size, color, shape, style, Jody will be sure to only let you leave with the perfect pair of glasses to fit your personality!

If you need a pick me up, caring touch, or simply just a boost of confidence or reassurance, Momma Jody is sure to have you covered with her powerful and caring instincts! ❤️

Harvest Season, Pheasant Opener, Allergies.

With our local farmers being in the midst of harvest, the hunters being out and about and stirring up the crops, grasses, and pollen, it all brings about our worst enemy. Allergies.

Recently, we were blessed by some of the best and we couldn’t possibly be more thankful! Students and staff with the St Joseph’s Indian School stopped by to present us with banana bread that they had made to say thank you! In the card were numerous statements and signatures from students expressing their thanks to us for working with them. For this, we are so grateful, and the bread was fabulous. 🥹

To work with such powerful organizations to tackle a common goal, truly is an honor. This is the reason we do what we do. Not for the gifts or the thanks, but to make a difference for individuals and improve their quality of life. ❤️
