What does the world feel like for someone living with dementia?

Recently, team members from the Memory Homes took part in dementia training designed to better understand that experience.

During the session, they wore simulation goggles that alter vision and perception. The exercise offered a glimpse into how everyday environments can sometimes feel confusing or overwhelming for individuals living with dementia.

Experiences like this help build empathy and strengthen the person-centered care that guides everything we do at Menno Haven.

Sometimes, understanding begins with seeing things from a different perspective. 💙

Thanks to your votes, Menno Haven has been named Best Assisted Living and Best Nursing Home in the Tri-State for 2026 — and a finalist for Best Senior Living/Retirement Home!

To our residents and community: thank you for your trust, your support, and for believing in what we do.

This one belongs to all of you. 💚

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
After careful consideration, we’re excited to introduce our new CEO… Riley.

She brings a strong background in napping, snack acquisition, and keeping morale high.

We think she’s going to fit in paw-fectly.

P.S. She hasn’t told her mom she took her job yet… shhh 🤫

🫐🥧 A little baking, a lot of laughs, and plenty of blueberries.

Some of our residents spent time in the kitchen baking homemade blueberry pies, and let’s just say the room smelled amazing. From crimping the edges to making sure the filling was just right, they had the whole pie-making process covered.

Now the only question is… who gets the first slice?

A Friday morning that turned into something special. 🎸

Members from ElderDay and residents from Chambers Pointe came together for a live 50s–60s concert, complete with dancing, singing, and an unexpected jam session during the song 𝘒𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘴 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺.

Music filled the room, people joined in, and the day took on a rhythm of its own. Not a bad way to start the day! 😉

Some stories spark great conversations right from the first chapter. 📖

During one of Menno Haven’s reading groups, a resident dives into The Recipe Box by Viola Shipman, a book that blends family, food, and memories in the best way. These groups are about more than reading—they’re a chance to share perspectives, swap recommendations, and enjoy time together.

A night out with a little spooky fun. 👻

A group of independent living residents headed to Waynesboro Area Senior High School to enjoy the student production of The Addams Family, complete with great seats and plenty of laughs along the way.

Moments like this remind us that life at Menno Haven is about staying curious, connected, and part of what’s happening around town.
