Dear friends,

In observance of the holidays the office will be closed December 23-27th and January 1st.

Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. No matter how you spend it this year I wish you all health, safety, and comfort. The meaning behind this season doesn’t change just because we are celebrating it differently.
Thank you all for your support this year!
Looking forward to 2021 and the hope of a better year!

Today marks the 5th anniversary of opening the doors here at Chambersburg Acupuncture, LLC. It’s been quite a journey so far and I would never have come this far if it weren’t for all of the amazing support from all of you. While this year has been a challenge for all of us I’m still incredibly thankful to be where I am and incredibly thankful for you! Happy October 15th!

Dear friends and patients,

I am happy to announce that beginning next Tuesday, June 2nd Chambersburg Acupuncture will resume normal business hours.
In order to ensure adequate screening prior to an appointment and proper disinfection afterwards, return patients will be scheduled at an interval of an hour and a half.
You will notice some changes to the process. These are for your safety, my safety, and the safety of the next person.
Everyone will be required to wear a mask. I will be wearing a mask. If you’re not sure you can tolerate a mask then you should reschedule your appointment.
You will be asked to call the office when you arrive in the parking lot. I will ask you a series of questions (i.e. Do you have a fever? Cough? Shortness of breath? Unusual fatigue? Feeling unwell? Have you recently been around anyone who has been experiencing symptoms or who has tested positive? Within the last two weeks have you traveled to any known hotspots?
If you answer yes to any of these questions I will ask you to reschedule.
For the time being the 24 hour cancellation policy is waived.
After the screening questions, I will come to your car and take your temperature. I will have you sign an Informed Consent Form.
You will then be allowed into the office where you will be required to immediately go to the bathroom and wash your hands.
We can then begin your treatment.
Treatment rooms will be alternated between each patient to allow for proper disinfection.
Units with HEPA filtration and UV-C sanitation will be present in each room.
I care for your health and safety and will do everything in my power to provide a safe, healthy, and worry free environment.
Undoubtedly, some will think this an overkill. I ask for patience and cooperation. This isn’t an ideal situation for any of us. This about protecting the circle of life. I do have a significant number of immune-compromised and high risk patients. I have the moral, ethical, personal, and professional responsibility to keep all who enter my doors safe.
Thank you all for your patience. I’m looking forward to seeing you!

Garlic

Many of us are looking for ways to keep ourselves and those around us healthy through this pandemic. One thing that I’m doing and recommending to my family is eat raw garlic. From a Traditional Chinese Medicine view point, garlic contains anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. It is specifically beneficial for the lungs and conditions of phlegm.
Modern research has supported these findings, as well as other important health benefits such as; acting as an anti-fungal and anti-tumor, and fighting against cardiovascular disease and lowering blood sugar. Eating raw garlic will also help with social distancing 😉.

The beautiful thing is that most of us have wild garlic popping up in our yards right now. It’s probably the tallest green clump in your yard. Not sure? Break it off and smell it. Wash it well, especially if you have dogs.

Eat it has a preventative or, if you have a cough, (continue to eat it and) crush it and apply it as a poultice to the bottoms of your feet - in the depression on the ball of the foot between the big toe and next toe over. Change every four hours.

Throughout history, many different cultures have recognized the potential use of garlic for prevention and treatment of different diseases. Recent studies support the effects of garlic and its extracts in a wide range of applications. These studies raised ...

I have spent countless hours in careful consideration with many back and forth moments of whether to stay open or close. Ultimately, I have to make the decision which gives me the greatest peace of mind. Effective tomorrow, March 20th at 6:00pm the office will close for an undetermined period of time. This is not an easy decision in many ways. It is one that will be felt financially. However, money is no comparison to the health and welfare of my patients, community, and myself. I strive to always provide an environment where patients can feel safe and well cared for and look forward to the day I can offer that again.
I will continue to offer herbal consults over the phone for those who are interested. I will also happily offer dietary and lifestyle advice on how to keep immunity strong.
Thank you for your patience during this difficult time for all of us. We’ll get through this quicker and decrease the potential for suffering if we all take the recommended precautions. Please take care of yourselves and those around you.
I hope to see you all soon!
Many blessings,
Meagen
