🔬 Visceral Fat vs. Subcutaneous Fat

Not all fat is the same. Understanding the difference matters:

✔️ Subcutaneous fat lies directly under the skin. It’s less metabolically active and mostly serves as energy storage and insulation.
✔️ Visceral fat surrounds internal organs like the liver, pancreas, and intestines. This type of fat is far more concerning because it’s metabolically active and linked to insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, and systemic inflammation.
