Good Afternoon and Happy Easter! We have a new update to share about Better Tomorrows Counseling Services, including a new location. BTC has moved to:

This new location is not far from our previous offices (still off of Devonshire Dr. in Champaign) and comes with expanded offices for new therapists, a larger lobby and reception area, and a dedicated play therapy room.

Hello! We get a lot of questions regarding our program and services. See some of the most common questions we get and the answers below.

Q-Are you only doing telehealth services, or do you also provide services in-person at this time?
A- Better Tomorrows Counseling is currently providing BOTH Telehealth and In-Person services.

Q-What kinds of issues, mental illnesses and diagnosis do you work with?
A-We have vast experience treating Trauma, PTSD, Attachment Difficulties, Anxiety, Anger Issues, Depression, Various Mood Disorders, Behavioral Issues, Grief & Loss, Abuse & Neglect, ADHD, Relationship Issues, Parenting Issues, Autism Spectrum Disorders and Other Specific Mental Health Diagnoses. We do not specialize in primary diagnoses of eating disorders, substance and/or alcohol addiction disorders, sexual offending disorders, or domestic violence perpetration. Any other primary diagnosis of a severe mental health disorder would be assessed on an individual basis.

Q-What types of payment do you accept?
A-It is the goal of Better Tomorrows to be able to serve a diverse population. As such, it is our goal to accept private pay, a variety of commercial insurances, and state-funded insurances. We currently accept:

-Health Alliance -Humana -Molina
-Blue Cross/Blue Shield (Commercial, Choice and Community Health)
-Christie Clinic Employee plan -HFS Medicaid -Immergrun
-Optum/United Behavioral Health -Meridian -YouthCare

We are working to be credentialed with the following insurances:
-Centene -Tri-Care East

*Better Tomorrows is also willing to explore other insurance credentialing if needed to make services available and will consider contracted services with child welfare agencies, public health organizations and schools.

Hello All. We wanted to give a quick update about Better Tomorrows Counseling Services in 2021! For those who don’t know, we are a Champaign County based private therapy practice. With the world still in a Pandemic and stress at unforeseen levels, there is great need for services in support of the health and wellbeing of our community. We offer mental health assessment and therapy services for individuals, couples, families, and groups. We also provide training, consulting services and counseling to schools, students, parents, first responders, medical staff, public health and essential workers.

Better tomorrows Counseling has seen significant growth in the past year and we are currently expanding both our facilities and staff so that we can better meet the needs of our clients and our communities. All of our therapists are Clinically licensed in Illinois and our Clinical Director holds a foundational certification as a Theraplay practitioner, one of a few providers who hold this within the Champaign-Urbana community.

Better Tomorrows Counseling is now accepting U of I Student Health insurance (Optum/United Health).

In order to meet the mental health service needs of more people in our community, Better Tomorrows Counseling has expanded our insurance and payment options. We now accept Health Alliance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, BCBS Community Health Plan, Humana, Immegrun, Molina, Christie Clinic Employee plan, and HFS Medicaid.

We are in the credentialing process with the following insurances:
All Health Alliance plans, Meridian, Illini Care, Medicaid, Youth Care, Tri-Care East and Optima United Behavioral Health (U of I Student Insurance).

Better Tomorrows is also willing to consider contracted services with child welfare agencies and school districts.

New Therapist now LIVE at Better Tomorrows Counseling!

Jamey Bailey is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist. Jamey has been working in the mental health field for over 20 years, including as a therapist, case manager, direct care counselor, program supervisor, and clinical consultant. Jamey has vast experience providing services to adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of environments and communities in Illinois. He believes in utilizing the treatment that best meets the needs of the client and is versed in an array of psychotherapy models that are based on empirical, evidence-based research. Jamey has worked with clients experiencing severe trauma, PTSD, and other trauma-related diagnoses, grief and loss, ADHD and related behaviors, emotional and behavioral instability, and depression and related mood disorders. He has also provided family therapy services focusing on interfamily dynamics and relationships with foster, adoptive and families of origin and has worked with clients on the autism spectrum.

Jamey earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Secondary education at Monmouth College. He attended The University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana where he graduated with a Master’s degree in social work. Jamey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois.
