Just because it feels true… doesn’t make it true.

Anxiety and OCD are really good at telling convincing stories.

“I can’t handle this.”
“This means something is wrong with me.”
“I need to fix this right now.”

And your body believes it.
Your emotions back it up.
It feels urgent and real.

But feelings aren’t facts.

There is a difference between:
👉 what your mind is saying
👉 and what is actually happening

“I’m a terrible person” → “I had an intrusive thought”
“I can’t handle this” → “I’m feeling overwhelmed right now”

That shift changes everything.

Not because it makes anxiety disappear…
but because it brings you back to reality, where you have choices.

It can be frustrating to feel stressed out and to hear the same advice over and over again. “Take a deep breath,” “Breathe in for 4 and out for 6,” “Just breathe.” You may wonder how simply taking a breath could possibly make anything better. Here is the science behind how deep breathing can soothe our nervous system.
