It's World Bipolar Day

World Bipolar Day helps raise awareness and reduce stigma around bipolar disorder.

Bipolar depression is a chronically recurring condition that involves moods that swing between depressive lows and manic highs. These states can occur over days or even years.

Someone with bipolar depression can feel sad while also highly energized. In a depressive state, people with bipolar disorder will have the same symptoms as depression, but sometimes they experience them with their manic symptoms, causing agitation, suicidal thoughts, or trouble sleeping.

Mental health care can include therapy, medication management, and supportive coping strategies; we are here to help. We have 30+ therapists, many of whom have experience in working with breaking codependency patterns. Give us a call at 217.398.9066 or email us at staff@ecgstaff.com to schedule.

Are you thinking about for a change in providers for medication support?

Many of our NP’s clients were already on medication but were not happy with their care, the wait times for appointments, or the single-minded approach that their primary doctor or psychiatrist gave. Others are happy with their doctor but want undivided attention from a medical professional who can spend time with them and consult with their doctors or their therapist.

We are happy to offer an alternative option for our community!

Our Nurse Practitioners can help with issues and needs such as:
Anxiety
Depression
Bipolar Disorder
STI testing & treatment
Follow up care from a sexual assault
ADHD treatment & evaluation
Gender Affirming Care (including hormone therapy)
Trauma informed gynecological care
Gender informed gynecological care
And more!

What sets us apart?
Our NPs reserve up to an hour for your first appointment to ensure they get not only a full history, but a chance to get to know you as a person. They care deeply, and treat each person with respect and compassion that you deserve.

Now accepting Medicaid and Medicaid managed care plans.

What Is Play Therapy?

Children don’t always have the words to explain what they’re feeling—but they often express emotions through play.

Play therapy allows children to communicate, process experiences, and build emotional skills in a way that feels natural and safe for them.

Play therapy can help children who are experiencing:
• Anxiety or big emotions
• Behavioral challenges
• School or social difficulties
• Life changes such as divorce or moving
• Trauma or stressful experiences

Through guided play, children can build confidence, improve emotional regulation, and develop healthier ways to express themselves.

We are proud to announce that we now accept Medicaid for those seeking play therapy, too! 📞 Call 217-398-9066 to learn more about play therapy services at Elliott Counseling Group.

March is Social Work Month, and on March 17, 2026, we celebrate World Social Work Day—a time to recognize the incredible impact social workers have in our communities. 💙

Social workers play a vital role in advocating for social justice, human rights, and community well-being, while supporting individuals and families through life’s most challenging moments.

The 2026 theme, “Co-Building: Hope & Harmony,” highlights the important work of bringing people together, strengthening communities, and fostering understanding in a world that often feels divided.

At Elliott Counseling Group, we are proud to have many dedicated social workers on our team. Their compassion, advocacy, and commitment to helping others make a meaningful difference every day.

Thank you to all social workers for the care, empathy, and hope you bring to the mental health field and to the communities you serve.
