This reminds me of the time I was dreaming I was at the actual Nativity and bent down over baby Jesus in the manger, wondering if He had any tongue restriction. Then immediately asked myself, now why would baby Jesus have tongue restriction? 😅

This is an important discussion. Becoming parents is the biggest role change in both parents' lives and presents unique challenges for both partners.

Fathers also commonly undergo a massive identity shift and transformation as they navigate parenthood.

Maternal mental health resources can be hard to come by, though now the conversation is shifting and gaining more traction.

Supports for fathers/partners on the other hand are extremely limited.

Did you know that 1 in 10 dads gets postpartum depression, and up to 18% develop a clinically significant anxiety disorder such as generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder at some point during the pregnancy or the first year postpartum?

And partners are 50% more likely to experience their own mental health challenges if mom is experiencing a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder?!

We as parents/partners are a unit. We cannot support one and leave the other out to dry with no support of their own. This only serves to impair the system altogether.
