Precision Neuromuscular Therapy (PNMT) is the creation of Douglas Nelson, a licensed Massage Therapist who has been in practice for thirty years. What makes PNMT special is the way it approaches soft-tissue therapy. More than a technique or modality, PNMT is really a way of thinking, essentially clinical reasoning in soft-tissue therapy.

In our Precision NMT TMJ Intensive course we treat the typical muscles of TMJD, like masseter, temporalis and the pterygoids but we also go over the syprahyoids, glossus complex and infrahyoids!

In this video we demonstrate treatment to one of the syprahyoids, the digastric! The digastric is a very important muscle for swallowing, singing and talking. With any anterior neck work it's important to be careful and in our classes we make sure you feel capable and confident in treating these muscles.

In this discovery series, we will explore the commonalities of bodywork approaches and psychological therapies. In both fields, individuals often present themselves with a presenting issue / dissonance that has motivated them to explore strategies for personal growth and a greater sense of internal peace. Since both somatic and psychological approaches are addressing the same nervous system, many, if not most, of the “rules of engagement” are remarkably similar. We have much to learn from each other and both disciplines share a long and storied history. In both, clients are often helped most not by our therapeutic techniques, but by the depth of our understanding of the fundamental underpinnings of the nervous system.
