Neurodiversity Affirming Evaluations, Consultations, and Support for Neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan. ABPdN specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological and neurodevelopmental evaluations and consultations for Autism, PDA, Tics/ Tourette's, ADHD, and Learning Disabilities (Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia). Dr. Jennifer founded her practice in 2011 with a focus on helping individuals of all ages recognize their strengths and overcome their obstacles. Her focus is on empowering neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan. She is also an advocate for change from a pathologizing view of mental health and neurodivergence to one of agency, authenticity, accomodations, and strength-based approaches for the ND individual. Dr. Jennifer is neurodivergent herself and understands the challenges and embraces the strengths in individuals with attention, learning and social differences. She is credentialed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, Licensed in Illinois as a Clinical Psychologist, Board Certified in Pediatric Neuropsychology by the Academy of Pediatric Neuropsychology, Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Illinois, Department of Psychology, Urbana-Champaign, Registered as a Telehealth Psychologist for the state of Florida, Authorized to practice telepsychology by PSYPACT, an interstate compact. Dr. Jennifer and her staff are accepting new clients at the office in Champaign, IL or the new pop-up clinic in Peoria, IL, as well as via telehealth for residents of Illinois, Florida and participating PSYPACT states.

Exciting news!

Emily Perepa, LCSW is joining The ABLE Center as the Director of Intervention!

Emily is a graduate of the UIUC School of Social Work. She subsequently trained at and graduated from The Baby Fold's Trauma Fellowship. During her time there she was trained by Dr. Huffman in the areas of neuroaffirming practice, pathological demand avoidance, and neuropsychological rehabilitation.

We are absolutely thrilled that she is joining our practice!

Exciting News, all editions of Dr. Huffman's books are now available on Amazon!

The first is the main book, Unlocking the Power of My PDA Brain: Adventure Guide (Activity Workbook and Parent Companion). This is the longer version of the book with additional activities for children and parents to do together and a parent companion guide. It is available in paperback and ebook. it ended up well over 100 pages, so a briefer version was also made.

I'm so excited to have Dr. Jennifer Huffman's affirming resource for PDAers. I have followed her work for years now and know that this book draws from her lived experience, education and extensive background in supporting young people. It's a resource packed with practical, creative ideas, all presented in an approachable style that makes it easy to apply. It’s an invaluable tool for PDAers, their families, and the professionals who work with them, offering insights and strategies that can make a real difference in daily life and long-term support.
